75,000 Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphones to go on sale in India today

50,000 Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphones went on sale on December 2nd, and it sold out in 6 seconds in the first flash sale. The company has announced that 75,000 Redmi Note smartphones would be available for sale on second flash sale today on Flipkart at 2PM. Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphones went on sale again on Flipkart yesterday without registration. The company said that the the sale will last till the stocks are over. Google Nexus 9 16GB WiFi variant goes on sale on Amazon in India for Rs. 28900 [Updated]

Google unveiled the Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC back in October. It got priced at Rs. 28,900 for the 16GB WiFi variant and Rs.44,900 for the 32GB LTE variant on the Google Play Store in India last month. Now the 16GB WiFi Indigo Black variant of the Nexus 9 is on sale on Amazon.in at the same price of Rs. 28,900. The LTE variant is also expected to go on sale soon. Confirmed: OnePlus One sold in India will not receive CyanogenMod updates

Cyanogen inked an exclusive deal with the popular Indian manufacturer Micromax, a couple of days ago. The terms of the partnership did create some confusion in the minds of the potential OnePlus One buyers in the country.

Back then a press release from Cyanogen said that their mobile operating system will not support any other device expect the Yu branded smartphones in India. The statement came at a time OnePlus launched their device in the sub-continent and this is when things started to get messy. Micromax launched the Canvas Nitro A310, a mid-range Canvas series smartphone back in September, and we reviewed it soon after the launch. Now the Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 has been listed on the official website. The only difference between the Canvas Nitro 310 and the 311 is the 16GB of internal storage in the A311, compared to 8GB of storage in the A310. Otherwise all the specifications are similar, including a 5-inch HD display, 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax has launched Canvas Selfie, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash, similar to the HTC Desire Eye. It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a Sony sensor. Other features include, 4.7-inch HD display, 1.7 GHz True Octa-Core processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS, dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax launched the phone with the IPTL stars Sania Mirza, Ana Ivanovic, Kristina Mladenovic and Daniela Hantuchova. Acer has launched Liquid Jade and Liquid E700, the company’s latest smartphones in the Liquid series in India. The Liquid Jade has a has a 5-inch HD IPS display based on Zero Air Gap technology with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Liquid E700 too comes with a 5-inch HD display. Both these are powered by a quad-core processors and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). The Liquid Jade has a 13-megapixel rear camera with 0.3s focus time, F1.8 aperture, LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Galaxy Note Edge UK launch delayed again?

The rollout of the Galaxy Note Edge is fast turning into Samsung’s saga of the year as the unique twin of the Galaxy Note 4 could be delayed yet again. We’ve already seen the handset launch slip with the initial launch rumoured for the middle of November before being pushed back to November 28 and then again to December 12th. The latest information we have comes directly from Samsung’s UK online store and suggests the launch may be pushed back a further 5 days with Note Edge shipments set to begin on December 17th. Xiaomi Redmi Note went on sale earlier this week on December 2nd, and it sold out in 6 seconds in the first flash sale. Xiaomi usually stops selling the earlier models temporarily to concentrate more on the new model. Now the company has decided to bring back the Redmi 1S, at least for a day. Three UK have revealed that their superfast 4G network is now available to 48% of the UK population with 3.1 million of their customers are now using the next-generation network. Three was the last network to roll out 4G ten months ago and despite the 48% coverage, they are still behind EE (78%), O2 and Vodafone (51%). Apple set to open its first store in Belgium

Apple looks set to open its first retail store in Belgium following years of speculation if postings on its jobs page are to be believed. Belgian blog Apple Nieuws Vlaanderen reports that yesterday Apple posted six job listings for positions in an upcoming Retail location in Brussels.
