Samsung introduced the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 with a huge 12.2-inch screen at the CES 2014 last month. It was launched in India at the Samsung Asia Forum 2014 in Bali earlier this week at a price tag of Rs. 64,900. We got to check out the tablet at the event. The Z1 Compact has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It went on pre-order on the same day at the launch price, but Samsung has suddenly reduced the price of the device, that is available for pre-order at Rs.  38,990 on the official eStore. It has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2.2-megapixel HD front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z1. Hike messenger by Bharti Softbank (BSB) has announced that it has crossed the 15 million users. It crossed 5 million users in just four months after its launch on 12th December 2012 and has tripled its user base within 9 months. The cross-platform messaging app that is targeted at youth introduced Last Seen Privacy, a new feature that lets users choose to share their  ‘Last Seen’ and ‘Status Updates’ with a chosen set of friends.

Micromax Canvas Knight with Octa-Core processor launching in India soon


Micromax unveiled the Canvas Knight A350 at an event in Russia last month. The company has announced that the smartphone would hit the Indian market soon and has also released a teaser video. The Canvas Knight has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 2 GHz octa-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Airtel reaches 200 million mobile customers in India

Airtel has announced that it has crossed  200 million mobile subscriber mark in India. It is the largest mobile operator in India and fourth largest mobile operator in the world in terms of subscribers. It has 1.5 million outlets and serves 86.7% of the country’s population. It crossed 60 million mobile customer mark in 2008 and reached 100 mobile subscriber base in India in 2009. It took just 5 years for Airtel to add 100 million customers.

HTC One family starts getting Android 4.4 KitKat update in India

We got some hands-on time with the tablet at the Samsung Forum 2014 in Bali, where is launched. It comes with a S Pen stylus that docks on the back of the tablet and has a Wacom Digitizer for pressure sensitive input, just like the previous Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. It has a 12.2-inch (2560×1600 pixels) WQXGA display, powered by a Octa-Core Exynos 5 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung’s own Touch Wiz UI on top.
