The much awaited 41 Mega pixel monster camera phone is all set to go on sale in the UK going by the listing on UK retailer Clove . The 808 Pureview has got a Pre-Order price tag of 449 pounds (539 pounds including VAT). While the exact launch date is not yet available , they are taking pre-orders for the Symbian device.  The price seems quite a premium for a Symbian device . Even HTC One X and iPhone 4S cost little lesser or little more in the UK. Although the 808 seems a bit over priced , the camera is something we have never seen before on a mobile device. Sony Xperia S review – a new beginning?

Sony Ericsson has always been a mixed bag of nuts for me. I appreciate the company’s tries to bring in different new features, and extend the capabilities of Android. However, at the end of the day, I was always left with the feeling that they didn’t give their best, and didn’t quite think it through. From the terribly slow X10 (at least at the time I have had it), to the Xperia Arc, which was one of the most horribly built devices I have ever tried. Anyways, Ericsson is gone now, and Sony is ready to start into a new future, with the Xperia S the first incarnation of the company’s rebrand.

I have been trying the Sony Xperia S for a good 2 weeks now, trying to see if Sony can impress me. The spec sheet reads very nice: 4,3″ 720p HD display, a Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual core processor with 1,5 GHz and Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB RAM, 32GB memory, a 12 Megapixel camera with  Exmor R sensor and 1080p video at 30fps, all wrapped in a plastic body with a special Nano coating. So, the specs are there, so let’s see if it’s any good.

Motorola RAZR MAXX with 3300 mAh battery hitting Europe and Middle East in May 2012

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx was launched on Verizon for consumers in USA earlier this year.Features wise it’s almost identical to the Motorola DROID RAZR. One major difference is the much bigger 3300 mAh battery inside the RAZR MAXX which also makes the handset a little thicker.  I’m sure most of us are ok  with the trade-off as the extra-large battery might help you squeeze out more than 17  hours of talk time out of the handset .Considering how Android phones run of out battery so soon , this handset got a lot of attention in the US and now Motorola has announced its plans to launch the RAZR MAXX in Europe and Middle East in May 2012.  Continue reading “Motorola RAZR MAXX with 3300 mAh battery hitting Europe and Middle East in May 2012”

Sony Xperia’s TV Ad is Made of Tiny Robots

When it comes to ads, Sony has always pushed the limit of creativeness. Who here remember their famous Bravia ads, like Playdoh and Paint? With the release of their next Xperia NXT devices, Sony Mobile is relying on a massive advertising campaign to promote the brand. The new TV campaign is directed by Wes Anderson of Fantastic Mr. Fox fame. It tells the story of little Androids who work tirelessly inside an Xperia smartphone, all based on the imagination of a little kid. How sweet is that? The TV ad is supposed to premier on the evening of Saturday 24 March but it seems that someone at Sony has jumped the gun. Jump over to view the stop motion animated ad in all its glory.

First Nokia Lumia Windows Phone Impressions From A February 2011 Believer

Warning: this post is subjective, the most subjective you will ever find. I am writing it for the many readers who understand that and who still want to hear my opinion regardless of whether or not they agree. If you want to bash, build conspiracy theories, point your finger and say that I’m a Nokia hater or a Nokia lover, I’ll save you the trouble and tell you beforehand that you won’t change my mind and that I am both: I love them so much I ended up hating them two years ago. Otherwise, read on.
