iOS 5.1 now available for download

Apple announced the new iPad today along with a new Apple TV. Along with these announcements came the news that iOS 5.1 is finally rolling out today to compatible devices. While the update is still not showing up in iTunes , it is available through OTA (Over The Air).  Make sure you back up your device before updating it. One good news for iPhone 4S users is that battery life is reportedly improved with this update. We observed the same in a beta build. Good news for folks in India and in other countries where 3G coverage is spotty is that the 3G toggle is back (we will confirm this in a bit)

Apple iPad 2 Price Drop – 16GB Wi-Fi version gets $100 Price Cut !

Apple has announced the new iPad today with a bunch of new features and surprisingly , the old iPad or the iPad 2 is not going away from the shelves. Apple has announced that the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad 2 will get a $100 price cut starting today and will start selling at $399 instead of the usual $499. The new iPad will start at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version. If you wanted to get an iPad and are willing to spend only about $400 ,  now is a great time to pick one up. But if you are a techie who lives in the cutting edge of technology , save up that extra $100 and get yourself the new iPad. It should be totally worth it. Android Market app limit increased to 4GB from 50MB


Google has increased the App limit in the Android Market from 50MB to 4GB. This would let the app developers to upload high-quality 3D interactive games of higher size easily. The size of your APK file is limited to 50MB to ensure secure on-device storage, but expansion files can be attached to the  APK. Micromax A73 Dual SIM Android phone now available in India for Rs. 7,490

Micromax A73, new Dual SIM Android phone branded as Superfone Buzz is now available in India from online retailer LetsBuy. It has a 3.5-inch Capacitive Touchscreen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by 650 MHz processor and has 2 MP Primary Camera with LED flash, 0.3 MP Secondary Camera. The Micromax A78 Dual SIM phone in the Superfone series popped up last week with similar features but it has a QWERTY keyboard. LG has launched the Optimus Vu in Korea that was announced before the MWC. It comes with a 5-inch (1024×768 Pixels) IPS Display with 4:3 Aspect Ratio and 650 nits brightness. It is powered by 1.5 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon Processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Upgradeable to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich within 3 Months). It is  8.5mm thick and weighs 168g. Samsung Galaxy S2 Android Ice Cream Sandwich update coming on March 15, says Samsung Israel


Samsung Israel has confirmed on their Facebook page that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update would be available on March 15th. This update would be available for unlocked and carrier-branded handsets in Israel. Samsung confirmed the ICS update for Galaxy S2 last November. They announced last December that the Galaxy devices would receive the Android 4.0 update in Q1 2012. Motorola Atrix 2 is now available in India from online retailers such as Letsbuy and Saholic. The Motorola Atrix 2 has 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) display and is powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS (Android 4.0 ICS update in Q3 2012). It has 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, Full HD (1080p) video recording and VGA front-facing camera for video calls. Nokia Lumia 800 gets a price cut in India, and is available for Rs. 23,790. The Nokia Lumia 800 went on sale in India last December for Rs.29,999 and got a price cut of around Rs. 2,000 in January. Nokia Lumia 710 also got a price cut recently. It has a unibody design and comes with a 3.7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack AMOLED display.
