Samsung Galaxy SIII in Garnet Red now available in stores in India.

At IFA2012 Samsung Mobile announced four more colours for Samsung Galaxy SIII, mainly Garnet Red, Sapphire Black, Amber Brown and Titanium Gray. Samsung Mobile India has launched Garnet Red version of Galaxy SIII (16GB) in India on Samsung e-store. It is now also available in Samsung premium and flagship stores as well local stores in India. The MRP of Garnet Red SIII is same as other 16GB variants which is Rs.42,500 and it’s retail price is around Rs. 37,500. Similar to blue and white, this variant has its packaging in Red. Leak: Say hello to the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the One X+

HTC is going to hold a press event in less than two weeks, on the 19th, where it’s widely believed that the company is going to show off their first smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8. One of those smartphones, codenamed “Accord” (pictured above), has just been leaked by Twitter user @Football4PDA. Official uTorrent app finally arrives for Android

BitTorrent Inc has finally released the native uTorrent (Beta) app for Android. uTorrent development team announced earlier this year that they are working on an app for Android. This app would let you search and download torrents on the phone, maintain RSS subscriptions, set download / upload limits and more. Amazon announces Kindle Fire HD 7 inch tablet for $199

Amazon today updated it’s entire Kindle line up of products including e-Readers and tablets. It has announced the  Kindle Fire HD 7”. This 7 inch tablet comes with a HD display, improved Wi-Fi,  improved HD audio featuring Dolby Digital Plus and offers 16 or 32 GB of storage. The device is powered by a Dual-core 1.2 GHz processor from Texas Instruments. The software powering this tablet is a heavily customized version of Android but since the device is not certified by Google , users would not have access to popular Android features and Google services such as Gmail , Google Maps etc.

Nokia Lumia 800 gets a Price Cut at UK Retailer

A Reuters report indicated earlier today that Nokia was cutting the prices of older Lumia phones and also indicated that company would cut the price of it’s 1st Windows Phone by around 15%. Now a UK retailer is selling the Black Lumia 800 for as low as 195 pounds ( 234 GBP including VAT) or Rs.17500 approximately which is the lowest price for the handset since it’s launch last year. The handset is retailing for around Rs.23000 currently in India and it is not clear if the price cut will be applicable here.

Samsung Galaxy S III sales hit 20 million units

Samsung has just issued a press release saying that sales of the Galaxy S III have surpassed 20 million units. The South Korean handset maker managed to hit this goal in just 100 days. They say that’s 6x faster than the original Galaxy S, and 3x faster than the Galaxy S II. The company even breaks things down by territory: 6 million units in Europe, 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America, and finally 2.5 million in the country that they call home. Nokia has announced the Lumia 820, their new Windows Phone 8 device. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels)OLED  ClearBlack display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It has a 8MP Auto Focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Dual LED flash at the back that can record videos at Full HD 1080p resolution at 30fps and a VGA front-facing camera. Nokia Lumia 920 with Windows Phone 8, 4.5-inch Pure Motion HD+ display, PureView camera announced

 

Nokia has finally announced their first Windows Phone 8 device, the Lumia 920. It has a 4.5-inch (1280 × 768 pixels) Pure Motion HD+ IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It comes with an 8.7 MP auto focus camera with LED Flash optical imaging stabilization and Carl Zeiss optics Full 1080p HD video capture at 30fps and Nokia PureView camera technology, a 1.2MP 720p HD front-facing camera for video calling and Wireless charging capabilities based on the popular Qi wireless standard. Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Y Duos Lite launched in India for Rs. 17900 and Rs. 6990

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite, Dual SIM phones in India. The Galaxy S Duos was announced last month and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite would launch in some European countries as Galaxy Pocket Duos. The Galaxy S Duos comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA (480×800) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The Galaxy Y Duos Lite comes with similar features as the Galaxy Pocket, other than the Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. It has a 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by a 832MHz processor and has a 2MP fixed focus camera at the back.

Google Maps for Android gets Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic in India

Google has started rolling out 2 new features, Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic updates for the Google Maps for Android in India. The Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation would be helpful while driving or walking. You can click the navigate button after you request for a destination. You can also turn the voice navigation off or select alternative routes. This feature was introduced back in 2009. Is this the nano SIM card for the iPhone 5 ?

We told you last year that a nano SIM card which is smaller than the already tiny microSIM card is in the works. Then there were rumours floating around that the next iPhone or the iPhone 5 would be using the nano SIM card slot.What followed was Apple, Nokia , RIM and Motorola defending for their own proposals at the industry standards body known as European Telecommunication Standards Institute ETSI . Microsoft, in partnership with Yuvraj Singh’s cancer awareness initiative YouWeCan Fight Cancer has launched YouWeCan app initially, exclusively for the Windows Phone devices. This app is free to try, but the paid version at Rs. 565 gives users an opportunity to contribute their bit to fight cancer most directly, as this is what one Cancer detection costs. Large portion of the payment automatically goes to the Yuvraj Singh Foundation for their anti-cancer drive.
