Celkon, known for its cheap value for money Android phones, including its new A119 Signature HD that we reviewed recently, has been spotted of selling its new low end Android device, the Celkon A62 on Snapdeal. The device comes with a huge 4.7 inch screen, with a resolution of 854×480 pixels. While it may not sound really exciting, we must remind you that it costs Rs. 6,799/- which is probably one of the few devices that have a huge screen at this price.
Samsung launched the all new Galaxy S4 amidst much fanfare in Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon today, in India near New Delhi. Like we had expected, Samsung has not launched the Snapdragon 600 powered version like in other LTE markets including USA and Europe. The Galaxy S4 variant launched here in India will pack the Exynos 5410 Octa-core processor developed by Samsung using the ARM big.LITTLE architecture. Samsung today launched the much awaited Galaxy S4 android smartphone in India at an event here in Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon. This 5 inch full HD flagship device from Samsung which will go on sale starting tomorrow April 27th, is priced at Rs. 41,500. As expected, the 1.6 GHz Octa-core variant of the Galaxy S4 will be made available for the Indian market. The device will first go on sale in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore tomorrow and all over India after that. It comes bundled with a Vodafone offer, unlimited 3G internet with FUP, 3000 minutes worth of local and STD voice calls, 750 local and national messages. Nokia has sent out an invite to several media outlets for a launch event in London , UK happening on May 14.The invite says that the “Nokia Lumia Story Continues” on May 14th. The previous major Lumia launch happened at MWC in Barcelona where the company launched the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 which are already available in India.

Micromax has announced that the company has sold over 1 million units of their flagship Canvas series of smartphones. Micromax launched the A100 Superfone Canvas back in August 2012, and the launched it’s successor, the A110 Canvas 2 back in November last year. The company unveiled the A116 Canvas HD with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor back in January, which was the most successful device in the Canvas series. Looks like Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S4 in India through multiple channels. The much anticipated Android phone will be launched at Reliance Digital Stores across India on April 27th with a launch party for pre-booking customers in the evening in Mumbai. Certain outlets have started pre-bookings since yesterday. We had reported today morning about the Galaxy S4 going on sale on Samsung’s official online store on 27th.

Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) in India. The Galaxy S2 got the Jelly Bean update in India earlier this month. The phone saw a huge price drop to Rs. 14,500 in India last month. Asus launched the Fonepad in India yesterday at a price tag of Rs. 15999. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here are the benchmarks of the device. The Fonepad is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Lexington Z2420 single-core processor with Power VR SGX540 GPU. Xolo launched the X500 powered by this processor earlier this year. Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store last month at a price tag of Rs. 15,999. Asus launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India earlier this month along with the 32GB 3G version priced at Rs. 21,999. Google has started selling 32GB WiFi version of the tablet from the official Google Play Store in India. Google unveiled the Nexus 7 last June, and the 3G version with 32GB storage was announced at the Google I/O in October last year. Once considered a leader amongst smartphone manufacturers, HTC has fallen from grace due to increasing competition and in some ways failure to keep up. With ever declining sales, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is in a dire scenario that calls for desperate measures.

Acer has announced the Liquid E2, successor of the Liquid E1 that was released earlier this year. It has a 4.5-inch (960 × 540 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the Liquid E1, but it is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor. UC Browser for Android and Java phones have been updated to version 9.0. The new updated brings UI enhancements, offline mode and lot more new features for the Android version. The Java app brings new UI, UDisk, better audio and video playback and more. UC Browser for iPad 2.0 was released recently that brought better performance, View it Later and more. UC Browser crossed 400 million users across 150 countries recently. It hold 25% market share in India, says the company. Sony Mobile has announced that they have started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update (v 6.2.A.0.400) for the Xperia P, Xperia go and the Xperia E dual. Sony Xperia J got the Jelly bean update last month, and the Xperia T and Xperia V got the update earlier this year. The Sony Xperia Tablet S got the Android 4.1 update last week. Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Sony Mobile has announced that the Xperia S,Xperia SL, Xperia ion and Xperia acro S would start receiving the Android 4.1 update from the end of May.
