Xolo Q1000 goes official, 5 inch HD display, Quad Core processor and Android 4.2 for Rs. 14,999

Initially spotted online, the Xolo Q1000 has finally gone official, with a price tag of Rs. 14,999/- Powered by a Quad Core processor, the Xolo Q1000 has a 5 inch 1280×720 HD display, which seems to the be the benchmark of all the mid range phablet-like devices in the Indian market these days. The display is similar to the one on the Xolo A1000 launched earlier this year, and the 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor and GPU are similar to that of the Xolo Q800. Consistent with other recent Android phone releases from other brands, the Xolo Q1000 is also running on Android 4.2 Jellybean, with lockscreen widgets and notification toggles.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z launched in India for a price of Rs.46,990

Sony launched its Xperia Tablet Z at the Mobile World Congress and it recently went on pre-order for about Rs.44,990 at several online retailers in India, but now, at a launch event in New Delhi, Sony has finally launched it here, for a price of Rs. 46,990. Boasting a brilliant 10.1 inch 1920×1200 display, the tablet aims to be the big screened point of interaction for all of Sony’s services like Music unlimited and Movies. We had went hands on with the device back in February at the MWC event and were left quite impressed. But with a steep price, will it find its way into people’s hands? Only time will tell.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 now available on Snapdeal for Rs.24,900

Yesterday, Samsung unveiled two new Galaxy devices at a launch event in Chennai. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 are the two new entrants to the new Mega series of devices solely focused on big screened smartphone computing. Out of the two devices launched, which were set to be available in India real soon, we already have the Galaxy Mega 5.8 listed as available on Snapdeal, the online retailer for a price of Rs. 24,900 which is two hundred rupees lesser than the launch price of Rs. 25,100. Although it is currently listed as sold out, we think that the devices are already trickling down into the retail channels and you will be able to get the device sooner than what Samsung said, we feel. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Hands on and First Impressions

Here is my first impressions of the just announced Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 which was announced yesterday in Chennai. We got some hands on time with the latest member of the Duos Dual SIM range from Samsung and the handset is also the smaller of the 2 Galaxy Mega devices announced. The phone is priced at Rs.25100 and packs a really large 5.8 inch display with a qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. It also packs 2 microSIM card slots with a Smart Dual SIM feature.  There is 8GB of inbuilt memory on board and also room for expansion using the microSD card slot which supports cards upto 64GB.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Hands On and First Impressions

We just got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and it is truly a mega phone with a massive 6.3 inch screen true to its name. The screen is a Super clear LCD with a 720p resolution and the phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual core Snapdragon processor with 1.5GB of RAM. There is 16GB of inbuilt memory and also a microSD card slot which can take upto  a 64GB  microSD. The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 which is the latest version of Android with Samsung’s TouchWiz layer on top.

Samsung has launched the two new Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 devices here at a launch event in Chennai. The two devices are expected to serve the purpose of the burgeoning “big screen devices” market which Samsung itself contributed in creating it with the original Galaxy Note. These “Mega” devices are true to their name and they are indeed huge. But there are two Mega devices and I am sure, you, like us, would be confused as to which is which and the exact differences between the two. So, here are some photos comparing the two Mega devices. LG unveils the White Nexus 4 officially

LG Electronics (LG) has officially announced the rumored White Nexus 4 in collaboration with Google. The specifications of the device is similar to the original Nexus 4 that was announced back in October last year and officially launched in India recently. Samsung has launched the  Galaxy Mega 6.3, the company’s latest smartphone in the Mega series in India along with the Galaxy Mega 5.8.  It was announced last month, packs a 6.3-inch HD ( 1280 x 720 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.9 MP front-facing camera. Foxconn and Mozilla partner to release Firefox OS devices on June 3rd

Mozilla announced the Firefox OS along with phones and operator partners earlier this year at the MWC 2013. The Firefox developer devices Keon and Peak manufactured by Spanish company GeeksPhone went on sale in April. Now the company has announced a press event in partnership with Hon Hai / Foxconn in Taipei next Monday, June 3rd to unveil new devices running on Firefox OS. HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0, the company’s new tablet in the ME series is now on sale from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing camera. HCL launched the ME V1 tablet earlier this year which had a similar 7-inch display but it had a Cortex A8 processor and Android 4.0 ICS. Samsung Galaxy Mega might launch in India today

Samsung India is holding a launch event today in Chennai where the company is expected to add an interesting device to it’s Galaxy line up of Android devices.Samsung has not yet revealed what device would be launched but Fone Arena has learned from multiple sources including retailers that Samsung would launch the Galaxy Mega[6.3 inch version], [5.8inch version]in India today. It is not clear if  Samsung would launch both the 5.8 inch and 6.3 inch versions of the Galaxy Mega in India.UK pricing for the 6.3 version was revealed recently along with a July release date. So India might be one of the first few countries to get this new device. It would be worth mentioning that the 5.8 inch version is a Dual SIM phone and less expensive of the lot so we might see Samsung launching the Galaxy Mega 5.8 today. Spice Smart Flo Pace Mi-422, a new phone in the Smart Flo series that surfaced last week is now available from online retailer Saholic. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display,  powered by a 1 GHz MediaTek MT6515 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has  a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Spice phones.
