It really is a testament to Moore’s law and the hyper-accelerated development of the mobile space that two year can lead to such immense differences between flagship devices in just 2 years. The Galaxy Nexus, announced in late 2011 was one of the first devices to feature a 720p display at a positively gigantic, (for the time) 4.65 inch display. It ticked every box in the spec sheet at the time, 1GB of RAM, the newest dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and a competitive GPU for the time courtesy of the OMAP 4460 platform.

Now, just two years later, LG G2 is in almost every conceivable way twice the device the Galaxy Nexus was in a footprint barely 3mm larger in either width or length. Over twice the pixels in the form of a 5.2 inch 1080p display, twice the CPU cores at almost twice the clock speed courtesy of the Snapdragon 800 processor resting in the belly of this svelte beast. The camera is similarly improved, over twice the megapixels (13 Megapixels), more than twice the video recording capabilities (1080p 60) and almost twice the battery capacity (3000 mAh) to power all of these internals. It really is impressive and astounding how far the mobile market has moved in such a short time.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 3 T211 in April and it has been available since July. The Galaxy Tab 3 T211 is a 7inch mid-range Android tablet from Samsung that was launched keeping in mind the mid-range tablet buyers. Galaxy Tab 3 T211 is the one with the calling abilities while the Galaxy Tab 3 T210 is the WiFi version.
The HTC One mini appeared on the official India yesterday, now the Desire 500 is available for pre-order from online retailer Snapdeal. Online retailer Flipkart has also listed the smartphone as coming soon. The HTC Desire 500 was announced back in July and packs a 4.3-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) with Sense 5. PUMA, popular for its sport products has launched PUMATRAC, a unique running application for the iPhone. This app has simplistic user-friendly design and has pre-loaded Tictrac technology that analyses how external conditions affect your running performance. This is designed to motivate athletes to get out the door and discover ways to get the most out of a workout while having fun along the way, says Puma. At IFA 2013, Archos unveiled their latest Android smartphones and tablets and the Titanium range is the company’s entry level Android smartphone portfolio. Available with four screen sizes, the Archos Titanium range brings entry level specs to Android smartphones at a very affordable price and they’re actually not all that bad.

Nokia launched the Lumia 1020 back in July and the talking point of the phone was its 41MP camera and its Pro Cam application that gave the phone a complete control of the camera. Prior to the Pro Cam on Lumia 1020, Nokia had its signature Smart camera application on the Nokia Lumia 925 that takes a lot of photos at a time and lets you manipulate them.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched in India just a week ago, with much fanfare and a hefty price tag. Priced at a steep Rs. 49,990, the device has finally landed in the retail market in India and we have swiftly picked up one from nearby. We recently checked out the excellent benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 800 version but the version launched in India sports a Exynos 5 Octa(We’ll be posting benchmarks for this too), and that’s the one we are checking out today. A 5.7 inch 1080p screen, 3GB of RAM, one of the first USB 3.0 interfaces on a phone and a 13 Megapixel camera checks all the spec requirements for a top end flagship device. We already know that the Elife E6, Gionee’s latest flagship is slated to launch in India on October 3rd. Now the phone is available from online retailer Snapdeal, ahead of official launch. The Elife E6, successor of the Elife E5 has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display based on one-glass solution (OGS+) technology, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6589T processor processor and runs on Android 4.2.
