HMD Global has started rolling out Android 10 update for the Nokia 3.1 Plus smartphone, which makes it the 15th Nokia phone to get the update after the Nokia 1 Plus, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureViewNokia 7.1Nokia 6.1 PlusNokia 7 PlusNokia 6.1Nokia 2.2, Nokia 7.2Nokia 3.2Nokia 4.2Nokia 8 SiroccoNokia 2.3 and Nokia 6.2. The phone was launched back in October 2018 running Oreo and got the Android Pie update in February this year. The latest update brings a number of additional privacy and security features for users, as well as Dark Theme, Focus mode, dedicated ‘Privacy section’, and more. Android 11 Beta Launch Show set for June 3 on YouTube

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, most launch events have been shifted to online and on similar lines, Google also cancelled its annual I/O event recently. realme announces Android 10-based realme UI Early Access for realme 3 and realme 3i [Update: Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 roll-out started for selected users]

[April 11, 2020]: realme has started rolling out Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 update to realme 3 and realme 3i users in India. The update comes as RMX1827EX_11_C.03 and weighs 2.46 GBs in size. Note that the update is rolled out only for the users who are selected for the early access program.

Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 10 update finally starts rolling out [Update: New update with bug fixes and April security patch]

Update: April, 2020 – Xiaomi has started rolling out new build 11.0.11.0.QFQMIXM for the Mi A3 that is about 1.33GB in size bringing April Android security patch and also fixes bugs. This also adds Pro camera mode, but there is no Wi-Fi calling / VoWiFi support yet.

Google will require A/B Seamless System updates for phones launching with Android 11

Google introduced seamless updates back in 2016 with Android 7.0. Any Android smartphone that features Seamless System updates will have two partitions; A and B and when a firmware update arrives, it is downloaded and installed on the second inactive partition. Once the update is downloaded and installed, the phone will boot into the newly updated firmware.

After rolling out beta update last month OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 10.0.9 [10.3.2 in India] for 7T, OxygenOS 10.0.8 [10.3.2 in India] for the OnePlus 7T Pro that brings March Android security patch, improved RAM management, stability improvements for recording videos in slow-mo and some fixes in Gallery. The OxygenOS 10.0.5 [10.3.2 in India] for the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 was rolled out earlier this week brining the same features.

realme releases Android 10 based Kernel Sources for realme 3 Pro and realme 5 Pro

realme has been rolling out Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 to the eligible devices as per the official schedule. realme 3 Pro, realme XT, realme 5 Pro, realme X, realme X2 and realme X2 Pro have already received Android 10 based realme UI 1.0 update so far, the company will update realme 3 and 3i to realme UI 1.0 this month. Android 10 based LineageOS 17.1 Official now available for several devices including POCO F1

LineageOS, the fork of most popular Custom ROM of its time CyanogenMod, is popular amongst custom ROMs enthusiasts. LineageOS team recently announced LineageOS 17.1 and dropped LineageOS 17.1 build for quite a few popular devices including POCO F1. LineageOS 17.1 uses Android 10 as the base, and the team behind had been working on the project since Android 10 announcement in September 2019 but the Permission Hub feature in AOSP conflicted with the Privacy Guard feature available in LineageOS causing the unforeseen delay and making the development team release LineageOS 17.1 instead of 17.0.
