Yesterday OnePlus announced several launch offers for its upcoming OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone, including Rs. 2,000 cash back and device insurance for Idea subscribers. Today Idea Cellular has details the offers. The Rs. 2,000 (in the form of discount of Rs. 100/month for 20 billing cycles) cashback will be available for post-paid customers on OnePlus 6 and they also get 10 GB/month additional data for 20 months on the Nirvana 499 Plan, which will effectively make the plan Rs. 399. The plan also covers device security for 4 months along with Digital Idea content services – music, movies and game for free.

Airtel completes acquisition of Telenor India

Airtel today announced that it has completed the acquisition Telenor India, after a year of entering into an agreement to acquire Telenor India’s running operations in seven circles – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West) and Assam, and transfer of all of Telenor India’s assets including spectrum, licenses and operations, including its employees and customer base of 44 million as well as outstanding spectrum payments and other operational contracts, including tower lease. Couple of months back Idea Cellular started roll out of its VoLTE services in Maharashtra & Goa, Kerala, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh & Telangana for its employees in the first phase. Today the company has started commercial roll out of VoLTE services across six circles – Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai) & Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana , and, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. T-Mobile and Sprint agree to merge in a deal valued at $146 billion

After T-Mobile and Sprint said they have ceased discussions to merge into a single entity back in November, both the company today announced a they have entered into a definitive agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction at a fixed exchange ratio of 0.10256 T-Mobile shares for each Sprint share or the equivalent of 9.75 Sprint shares for each T-Mobile US share. Reliance Jio reports Rs. 510 crore profit in Q4, has over 186 million customers

Reliance Jio today reported Rs. 7,128 crore revenue, up 3.6 % QoQ and a net profit of 510.44 crore, up 1.2% QoQ for its third quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 31st March, 2018. Apple today announced that it will launch the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) on May 11th in India, months after it launched the Apple Watch Series 3 standard version. Airtel said that it will start pre-registrations for the new Apple Watch on May 4, 2018 on Airtel website. It will also be available from Reliance Jio, and the pre-orders begins on jio.com starting May 4. It will also be available on Reliance Digital and Jio Stores starting May 11.
