XOLO has launched the Q800, the company’s first quad-core smartphone officially.  It went on sale from online retailer Flipkart yesterday.  It packs a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, 720p HD video recording and a 1MP front-facing camera. It has a YAMAHA 168 PA music system for enhanced audio experience. It has several music player options such as Shake to change the song and Auto filter in music settings to filter the songs based on their size. Xolo has started teasing their upcoming X series smartphone on their Facebook page. This is the company’s upcoming flagship device in the X Series. Xolo launched the X900 last year powered by a single-core Medfield Atom processor. The upcoming Xolo smartphone might be powered by a Clover Trail+ platform featuring a dual-core CPU and dual-core PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. Xolo launched A series smartphones last year, and the Xolo Q800, powered by a quad-core processor went on sale yesterday. Lava has launched E-Tab Connect, the company’s first tablet with 3G support and voice calling as they promised. It comes with a 7.0-inch (800 × 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A ARM Cortex A5 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 2MP rear camera, apart from the 0.3MP front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot that offers 3G connectivity and voice calling support. XOLO Q800 that surfaced earlier today is now on sale from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. This is the company’s first quad-core smartphone. Micromax A110 Canvas 2 would get the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update next week, according to reports from Tech2. Micromax launched the A110 Canvas 2 last year, and we reviewed it earlier this year. The company’s latest Smartphone  the A116 Canvas HD comes with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, and they already said that it would get the Android 4.2 update eventually. Nokia Lumia 620 goes on sale in India at a price of Rs. 14,999/-

Yes, the cat is finally out of the bag. Nokia Lumia 620, the company’s mid range Windows Phone 8 device that has been much awaited in the Indian market, has finally gone on sale in the Nokia India online shop. The currently available colours on sale are Cyan, Green, White and Magenta while the Yellow and Black variants are still shown as “Coming soon”, but we think it’s a work in progress at the site, and it might be available soon too. All the colour variations are priced at Rs. 14,999/- with delivery marked as “within 7 days” meaning it is already hitting retail anytime now.

Xolo is all set to launch the Q800, the company’s first Smartphone powered by a quad-core processor next week. We already told you earlier this week that the Xolo Q800 is coming this month. The phone showed up on Flipkart with complete specifications, and there is a count down for the phone’s launch on Xolo website, which shows 6 days remaining. It has a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It might be the MediaTek MT6589 SoC similar to the Micromax A116 Canvas HD since this has a PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Samsung India has announced that they have appointed Vineet Taneja as the Country Head for its Mobile & Digital Imaging Business, replacing Ranjit Yadav.  Vineet Taneja previously served as Operations Director, South India and Sri Lanka at Bharti Airtel. Prior joining Airtel, he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Nokia India between January 2008 to April 2010. He has over 25 years of experience and has worked in sectors like Sales, Marketing, Multimedia, Operations in companies including Hindustan Lever Ltd., Nokia India and Bharti Airtel. Lava to launch 7-inch Tablet with 3G, Voice calling soon

Lava Mobiles has announced that it would launch their first tablet with 3G and Voice calling support soon. Lava launched the E-Tab XTRON, the company’s first Android tablet running Android 4.1 last month, but it lacked a SIM card slot and voice calling capabilities. The upcoming E-Tab would come with both these features, but it would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) instead of Jelly Bean. Airtel launches new roaming pack for prepaid customers in Delhi

Airtel has launched a new roaming pack for their prepaid mobile customers in Delhi that would let them enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal (except Kolkata). This pack costs Rs. 21, and offers free incoming calls for 30 days while roaming in any of these states. National roaming usually costs Re 1 per minute, this pack eliminates such charges, at least in these states when the pack is activated. Xolo A1000 Review


Xolo A1000 is the company’s latest offering in the economy android phone market. Xolo has pitched the 5 inch screen phone, as one that can comfortably fit the consumers palm and budget. Xolo A1000 is priced at Rupees 13,999. The phone has width that measures nearly 70 mm, making the big screen phone easier to hold and function with the same hand. It also uses One Glass Solution technology. As the name suggests, only a single glass is used on the phone.

With these special features, will XOLO A1000 5 inch screen phone be able to stand tall, in a market that has already been swamped by competing brands. XOLO A1000 is not the first 5 inch economy phone in the android phone market. Micromax and Intex launched their 5 inch screen phones weeks before XOLO A1000 . Both phones are priced way below the new entrant’s MRP. Micromax A110 Canvas 2 and Intex Aqua 5.0, both were launched in December and are priced around 10,000 rupees. The latest Micromax A116 Canvas HD that we reviewed recently is priced similar to the Xolo A1000.
