Xolo launched the X1000 earlier today. We got some hands-on time with the device. This is the third device in the Xolo range powered by an Intel processor. Xolo launched the X900, the company’s first phone powered by an Intel Medfield Z2460 processor in India in May 2012. Xolo has launched the Xolo X1000, the company’s latest Intel Atom-powered Android Smartphone. It comes with a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) capacitive touch screen display at 312 ppi, powered by 2 GHz Intel Atom Z2480 processor with a 400 MHz PowerVR SGX540 GPU and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It comes with a 8 MP rear camera with LED Flash, 1080p video recording and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. It also has Full HD video playback. It doesn’t come with the Intel Atom Clover Trail+ processor as we guessed last week. This is the same processor present in the Motorola Razr i that we reviewed earlier this year. We are just minutes away from the Xolo X1000 launch in Goa, where we are live blogging the event, but looks like somebody jumped the gun and outed the X1000 in its full glory on the company’s website. It has now been revealed that the device will sport a 2 GHz Intel Medfield Z2480 system on a chip instead of the rumoured Clovertrail chip. Xolo claims this is the fastest phone, but since we have already seen phones(like the Motorola Razr i) sporting the Z2480 chip, we beg to differ.
XOLO has been teasing its upcoming Smartphone for the past few days under the Mission X tagline.The company is claiming it will launch the Fastest Smartphone ever today in Goa. The phone is expected to be based on the all new Intel Clover Trail+ platform.

The Department of Telecom (DoT) may ask Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in India, according to a recent report by Economic Times. DoT had already sent a notice to Airtel to stop their 3G services in these 7 circles including, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East), Kolkata, Gujarat, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. Samsung Galaxy Y Plus has surfaced on the official Samsung India website. Samsung announced the Galaxy Pocket in March last year, that launched in India in April. Details of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus (GT-S5301) surfaced earlier this year, but Samsung did not announce it officially. The Samsung Galaxy Y Plus (GT-S5303) looks like a Dual SIM version of the leaked Galaxy Pocket Plus for India. This would let you safeguard your device against thefts, burglary, malicious acts, riots among others, as well as damage. It starts at minimum insurance premium of just Rs. 50, and the plan will cost 1.25% of the purchased handset’s value. It has a 4.65-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED Plus display at 316 ppi, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash, Auto panorama (99 pictures in one click), 720p HD video recording and a 1MP front-facing camera. iBall has a launched the Edu-Slide i1017, the company’s new tablet in the Edu series aimed at students. It has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core processor with Quadcore GPU. It has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. This would compete with the 10-inch tablets, the Spice Stellar Pad Mi-1010 and the Videocon VT10. Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that nationally operates its telecom services under the MTS brand has announced that that have won spectrum in the 800 MHz band in eight circles including Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh (West) & West Bengal. Nokia Asha 310 that was announced last month is now available in India from the official Nokia Shop. It is the company’s first affordable touch screen phone with Dual SIM support and WiFi connectivity. It has a 3.0-inch (240 x 320 pixels), scratch-resistant capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor and a 2 MP rear camera. It runs on S40 Asha OS with Swipe UI and comes with 40 Free EA games including Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed The Run and Fifa 2012. Just weeks after launching the BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry’s head honcho in India decided to resign the job, effective immediately. Previously known as Research in motion, the Waterloo company recently launched its revamped smartphone efforts with new devices based on the BlackBerry 10 operating system. The BlackBerry Z10 was launched in India with a hefty price tag of Rs. 43, 490 and it was supposedly sold out within two day, with BlackBerry scrambling to refill the chain with a fresh inflow of devices. But, after all this, it has been revealed that the BlackBerry India head is resigning today.
