Nokia announced the Lumia 525 in India at the 6th Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Goa last month. The company has finally announced the price of the device. It was unveiled last year and has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display at 235 ppi, super sensitive touch for finger nail and glove use and is powered by a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor. Micromax LapTab dual boot Android and Windows 8.1 device announced

Popular budget smartphone brand, Micromax, just announced its entry into a brand new product category. At the Consumer Electronics Show, The company has announced a dual boot tablet that will join its line of products which includes smartphones, tablets and HDTVs.

Called the LapTab, the Micromax product will be powered by an Intel Atom processor. The device will run both Windows 8.1 and Android Jelly Bean so that you can switch between the two depending on your usage requirement. The rest of the specifications are fairly mid range. BlackBerry Q5 price drops to Rs. 19990 in India

Following the price cuts of the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10 last year, BlackBerry has cut the price of the BlackBerry Q5 to Rs. 19,990 as a part of festive offer. The BlackBerry Q5 was launched in India back in July 2013 at a price tag of Rs. 24990. It packs a 3.1-inch (720 x 720 pixels) capactive touch screen IPS display at 330 PPI pixel density,  powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on BlackBerry 10 OS.

Broadcom, a company that powers most of the WiFiac chips inside smartphones these days had been very quiet in the SoC business, but they had recently announced new chips and a partnership with Xolo for their Quad Core low end chip. The fruition of that partnership is the Xolo Q1000 Opus, yet another Q1000 that looks and performs nothing like the other one. This low-mid range device, that launched to retail in December last year, is priced at Rs. 9,990 and has modest specifications to rival the competition in the same segment. Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 520 emerge as the favourites in #SmartFone13

Two major polls were run in parallel for about a week with several phones knocked out in the weeks before, to bring the tally to the final four. Lava Iris 405+ that was spotted online earlier this week has been officially launched in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera, similar to the Iris 405. ZTE to unveil Grand S II, BlueWatch Smartwatch and a Phablet with 5.7-inch HD display at CES 2014


ZTE has announced that it would unveil the Grand S II, the successor of Grand S that was unveiled at the CES 2013 last year. It would also launch BlueWatch, its first Smartwatch and its first phablet with a 5.7-inch HD display and dual screen functionality. LG launched the LG G Pro Lite Dual, the company’s latest Dual SIM smartphone with 5.5-inch qHD display in India back in October 2013. We have the device for review, and here are the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor based on ARM Cortex A9 CPU with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It also comes with a stylus pen and packs a huge 3140 mAh battery. Let’s check out how it performs in a range of synthetic benchmark tests.

Xolo has officially launched the Xolo Q3000, the company’s latest flagship smartphone.  It comes with a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash, BSI 2 sensor, 1080p video recording and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a BSI sensor. It comes with 2GB RAM and a 4000 mAh battery. It  went on pre-order online last week and went on sale online earlier today.
