The Nokia Asha 501 was the company’s pilot for the new Asha SW platform. The lineup grew to a full portfolio when they launched the Asha 500, 502 and 503 at the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi. While we had taken a hands on look at these devices at the event, it was quickly clouded by the flashier lumias. But now we have a chance to check them out again, as these devices have finally launched into the retail market here in India. We have the Asha 502 here, which is basically the Asha 501 with a new cool chassis and a 5 megapixel camera with flash. Xolo Win 10.1inch Windows 8 Tablet Hands on

Xolo was the first company to bring Intel powered smartphones to the market and now, they are the first company to bring AMD processor powered tablets in India. Xolo unveiled their first Windows tablet – Xolo Win at the CES 2014. Xolo Win is a 10.1inch display tablet with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and it runs on Windows 8.1 OS. Nokia Lumia 525 Unboxing

The Nokia Lumia 525 was announced a while back, with the sole intention of removing the 512 MB RAM limit that barred the original Lumia 520 from getting all the games and apps on the Windows Phone store. This is very similar to the 256 MB limit some of the devices had on Windows Phone 7.5, so Nokia made a quick revision by upping the RAM on the 520 and releasing it as the Lumia 525. This is, by no means, a generational successor to the 520, rather just a minor upgrade to the already popular best seller. We just got the retail version in India, which costs Rs. 10,400, as announced, so of course, we bring you the unboxing to see what’s in the box, and a quick hardware overview.

iberry Auxus CoreX8 tablet, Auxus Xenea X1 smartphone launched, Nuclea N2 with Octa-Core processor coming soon


iberry announced the Auxus Xenea X1 smartphone and Auxus CoreX8 3G tablet last month, both these devices are now available for pre-order from eBay. The Auxus Xenea X1 smartphone has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with Mali-400 GPU and the Auxus CoreX8 3G tablet packs a a 7.85-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.6 GHz + 1.2 GHz Samsung Exynos 5410 processor with Tri-core PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. These devices runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and is upgradable to higher versions via OTA updates. Lenovo IdeaPad A10 Android-based notebook launched in India for Rs. 19990

Lenovo IdeaPad A10, the company’s first Android based dual-mode notebook in India. It has first introduced last year and packs a 10.1-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) 10-point multi-touch display. It has laptop and stand modes and can flip 300 degrees. It weighs about 1 kilograms, powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on customized Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. OPlus launches XonPad 7 tablet with 1.2 Ghz Quad Core processor, 7″ display for Rs. 9,990

OPlus has partnered with Snapdeal to launch a new 7 inch tablet called the XonPad7. The tablet is powered by a 1.2Ghz Quad Core Processor built on the 28nm process which should help increase battery longevity a bit. The specifications include 1GB of RAM as well as a 3G capabilities which means that you’ll be able to pop in a SIM card and surf the internet without having to rely on WiFI connectivity. The tablet is capable of voice calling.

You also the standard WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The XonPad7 has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing shooter. Users get Android 4.2 onboard the tablet. There’s 16GB of storage that can be expanded thanks to the microSD card slot. The battery rated at 3,500 mAh should be good enough for over a day of usage. The display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 which is just about sufficient for a 7 inch panel. Being an IPS display, viewing angles are quite decent. OPlus has partnered with Snapdeal for online distribution. The tablet is priced at Rs. 9,990.

It has a 3.0-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) display and runs on the latest Nokia Asha software platform v1.1 with Swipe UI. It packs a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, has Dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. We went hands on with the phone at the Nokia World back in October, where it was announced. Xolo partners with AMD for its first 10.1″ Windows 8 tablet – Xolo Win

Xolo, the Indian company known for its range of low cost smartphones, has just unveiled its first Windows 8 tablet at CES 2014 – the Xolo Win, powered by the AMD A4 Elite mobility processor. This is a first for XOLO as well as AMD, as this is the first Windows tablet for the former while it is the first APU-powered tablet for the latter. Sporting a 10.1″ inch screen with a 1366×768 resolution, the mid range tablet will take on the likes of the first generation Surface with similar specifications, but with full Windows 8 functionality. It will have 2 GB of RAM, rear and front facing cameras and a battery that supposedly lasts up to 7 hours. The Xolo Win is slated to be released in the Indian market by the end of January 2014.

Nokia has finally launched the Lumia 1320, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone as it promised last month. It was announced at the Nokia World last year and packs a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD LCD IPS Super sensitive display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8 OS with the latest Lumia Black update.
