At the Redmi Note 4G launch, Airtel partnered with Xiaomi to sell the smartphone through Airtel flagship stores across six cities in India. The smartphone went on sale on Flipkart on 30th December for Rs. 9,999 in the first flash sale, and 40,000 units sold out in 6 seconds. Now Airtel has started bookings for the Redmi Note 4G smartphone on the official website. Xiaomi to announce new 4G Redmi series smartphone on Jan 4th

Xiaomi has announced that it will launch a new Redmi series smartphone on January 4th, 2015 in China. It will come with dual SIM support and LTE connectivity. Xiaomi has not revealed the complete specifications of the smartphone yet. Xiaomi has sold 40,000 units of Redmi Note 4G smartphones in just 6 seconds in today’s (December 30th) sale in India. This is the first time Xiaomi is selling its Redmi Note 4G smartphone, and over 2 lakh people had registered for the sale. The Redmi Note 4G has support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, instead of Octa-Core MediaTek chip in the 3G variant. Xiaomi raises $1.1 billion funding, to launch new flagship in Jan 2015

After some reports of Xiaomi raising more than $1 billion in its latest round of funding, the company today officially announced that it has completed raising US$1.1 billion in the latest funding. This values the company at US$45 billion, as expected, more than the US$40 billion valuation, according to reports released last month. Xiaomi Redmi Note went on sale in India earlier this month for Rs. 8,999. Xiaomi has announced that Redmi Note 4G will go on sale on Flipkart on December 30th, as it promised at the launch. The Redmi Note 4G has support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, instead of Octa-Core MediaTek chip in the 3G variant. Xiaomi raising $1 billion in latest round of funding: Report

Xiaomi is said to raise more than $1 billion in its latest round of funding, according to reports from WSJ and Bloomberg. The latest funding comes from All-Stars Investment, DST Global and Singapore sovereign-wealth fund GIC, says the report. Back in November the company said to have raised $1.5 billion in funding. Recently there were reports that the company is valued over $40 billion. New reports say that Xiaomi is valued at more than $45 billion looking at the latest funding.

Delhi High Court partially lifts Xiaomi ban in India till January 8

Xiaomi has got itself a breather as the Delhi Court has partially lifted the ban from selling smartphones in India. The Chinese smartphone maker was banned last week from importing and selling handsets in the country owing to a patent infringement Ericsson’s Standard Essential Patents (SEPs).

The Delhi High Court has given an “ex-parte”  injunction to ban Xiaomi from importing or selling phones in India, as per a latest report from SpicyIP. The Chinese smartphone maker received the order from court order for infringing on Ericsson’s Standard Essential Patents (SEPs).

50,000 Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphones went on sale on December 2nd, and it sold out in 6 seconds in the first flash sale. The company has announced that 75,000 Redmi Note smartphones would be available for sale on second flash sale today on Flipkart at 2PM. Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphones went on sale again on Flipkart yesterday without registration. The company said that the the sale will last till the stocks are over.
