Xiaomi Redmi Note to go on sale on Flipkart on December 2nd for Rs. 8999

Mi India announced the Redmi Note smartphone in India at the Mi 3 launch event back in July. Today at an event in Delhi, the company has announced that the smartphone would go on sale at Rs. 8999 on Flipkart starting December 2nd. It would be a flash sale similar to the Mi 3 and the Redmi 1S, and the registrations for the sale would begin tomorrow, November 25th at 6PM. This is Rs. 1,000 lesser than the price Xiaomi announced last month, just like it did for the Mi3 and the Redmi 1S smartphones. There is a separate chartered plane to bring Redmi Note units later this week. This is the fourth time the company is bringing units from China to India using a chartered plane. Xiaomi to reportedly raise $1.5 billion in latest round of funding

Last week, it was reported that Xiaomi is seeking funding that will value the company at $40 billion. Now, a fresh report from China Daily is claiming that Xiaomi is talking to investors and banks to raise about $1.5 billion in its fifth round of financing.

Xiaomi is bringing another 1,00,000 units of the Redmi 1S smartphones for India on November 4th. As a surprise, the company has announced that, lucky fans those who tried to buy Redmi 1s and failed, will find the device added to their cart on Flipkart on November 4th. It did the same thing for Mi 3 during Diwali, but it only offered 25,000 units for lucky ones. This time it did not announce how many lucky fans would get their Redmi 1S smartphone in their cart automatically.

Xiaomi tablet with 9.2-inch display, Snapdragon 410 SoC shows up in benchmarks

Xiaomi introduced their first tablet, the Mi Pad back in May, now a 9.2-inch tablet with 1280 x 720 pixels display and a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU has surfaced on GFXBench database. The tablet that runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat), according to the listing, doesn’t have a name yet. This was first spotted by Gizmobic. Xiaomi clarifies it does not collect user data without permission

Xiaomi has clarified that its smartphones are not a security threat. The Chinese smartphone maker has made the clarification after the Indian Air Force (IAF) had issued a circular to its 175,000 personnel to shun the use of Xiaomi smartphones either by them, or their family members on suspicions that the company is using their phones to spy on its users on behalf of the Chinese government.

Xiaomi migrating user data from China to international servers

In a bid to boost global expansion, Xiaomi is migrating international user data outside of China. Data belonging to the privately owned company’s non-Chinese users will be moved in several phases to Amazon Inc servers in the United States and data centres in Singapore.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S Review: One of the best budget smartphones ever made

Xiaomi entered India with hopes of making a decent foray into the highly competitive smartphone market where right pricing equals massive success. Traditionally, Samsung knew this and Motorola stumbled upon it, Xiaomi should have known better. With the Mi3, the company woefully underestimated online demand and ended up discontinuing its sales soon, only to introduce a much cheaper model into the market, the Redmi 1S. On paper, the device is just too good to be true at the price point it comes at. For a shockingly low price of Rs. 5,999, the Redmi 1S comes with a large 720p screen, a powerful quad core processor, a 8 MP camera, 8 GB of memory and so on. No other phone currently offers these kinds of specifications at this price point, but the natural reaction for something that’s too good to be true is always this – Is there a catch? With the same doubt in our minds, here is the review of the Redmi 1S.

100,000 Redmi 1S smartphones sell out in 4.2 seconds in Oct 14th sale in India

Xiaomi has sold 100,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones in just 4.2 seconds in today’s (October 14th) sale in India today. September 30th sale took 13.9 seconds. For the festive season Xiaomi offered 1,50,000 Redmi 1S smartphones for the Indian customers on October 6th, which took several hours or more than half a day to sell out.
