
vivo India has announced that the 2026 edition of its flagship nationwide innovation programme, vivo Ignite, has achieved its highest participation to date, receiving over 38,000 registrations.
Designed for school students from Grades 8 to 12, the initiative encourages young minds to apply technology toward addressing real-world societal and environmental challenges.

The fourth edition of vivo Ignite recorded widespread participation across India, expanding its reach across urban, rural, and aspirational regions:
- Geographic Expansion: Registrations spanned across 12,000+ schools in 705 districts and 4,500+ cities, covering all 28 States and 8 Union Territories.
- Aspirational Districts: Submissions included entries from 92 Aspirational Districts, demonstrating broader accessibility.
- Idea Submissions: Students submitted more than 6,100 unique project ideas aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
- Government School Inclusion: Participation from government schools rose from 5% in the previous edition to 14% this year.

Following the initial registration phase, submitted ideas will undergo a multi-stage evaluation process. Shortlisted participants will receive expert mentorship and academic guidance to help develop their concepts into working prototypes.
The initiative will culminate in the National Finale, scheduled to take place in New Delhi in October 2026.
