Xiaomi has posted a teaser for the launch of a new product on July 16th on weibo. This just shows PK with a slim metal frame of a product placed in the middle. Xiaomi could unveil the Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus smartphone since the company introduced the Mi 4 in July last year. We can also expect the Redmi Note 2. The long frame in the teaser also hints at a new Mi Pad tablet, but Xiaomi could also surprise us with a new product. Xiaomi ‘Libra’ with Snapdragon 808, Android 5.1 surfaces in benchmarks

A new smartphone from Xiaomi codenamed Libra has surfaced on Geekbench. This reveals it will be powered by an Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 SoC (MSM8992) clocked at 1.44GHz and run on Android 5.1.1-based MI UI. It also reveals 2GB RAM, so this might not be a high-end smartphone, and might not be the flagship Mi 5 as rumored earlier. Xiaomi has announced that it has sold 34.7 million smartphones in the first half of 2015. This is a 33% increase compared to its sales in the first half of last year, which was 26.11 million. It sold 61.12 million smartphones in 2014, exceeding ts 60 million target. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun already announced that the company aims to sell 100 million smartphones in 2015. Xiaomi has appointed Shou Zi Chew as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He was a former partner at DST Investment Management Ltd, which has invested in several companies, including Xiaomi.
