Xiaomi’s YI Action Camera that was launched in March this year in China is now available in the US.
The Yi Action Camera has a 16-megapixel camera which uses Sony’s Exmor R BSI CMOS image sensor to capture full high definition videos and records video at 1080p (60 frames per second). It features slow motion and adjustable time-lapse shooting modes. The camera sports an 155° ultra-wide angle lens. It can record up to 90 minutes of footage on a single charge.
The action camera is also equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so it can be controlled via smartphone from up to 300 feet away and an accompanying YI Action App offers the ability to adjust camera settings and stream live footage instantly on a smartphone. It is waterproof for up to 40 meters underwater, just like GoPro. It weighs 72 grams comes with 64GB storage.
The YI Action Camera is available for purchase via Amazon for $99.95 and comes in arctic white and lime green color options. YI action camera kit that comes with a selfie stick and Bluetooth remote is also available in arctic white and lime green in the U.S. on Amazon.com for $139.95. The action camera comes with a one-year warranty.
Earlier in June, Xiaomi also launched Yi Camera Night Edition in China that can take pictures at night (up to 5 metres) with its 940mm infrared camera sensors.
