Xiaomi has announced a low cost GoPro like camera that is called as Yi Action Camera. The waterproof portable camera is priced at 399 CNY i.e $64 and is currently available only in China.
The Yi Action Camera has a 16-megapixel camera which uses Sony’s Exmor R BSI CMOS image sensor and records video at 1080p (60 frames per second). It features slow motion and adjustable time-lapse shooting modes. Xiaomi says the camera is waterproof for up to 40 meters underwater, just like GoPro. Weighing 72 grams comes with 64GB storage.
The Yi camera starts from 399 Yuan for the camera along, or 499 for the camera and selfie rod. In comparison, the GoPro Hero3+ Silver offers similar specs and is priced at $300. Similar to its smartphones, Xiaomi will sell the Yi Action camera via small batches of lash sale but only in China.
