WhatsApp is one of the most used instant messaging application. This is mainly due to the fact that, it is a cross-platform application and offers a lot of value-added services like voice calls, video calls, multimedia sharing, group chat, and not to forget the end-to-end encryption of these messages. Xiaomi introduced 43-inch and 49-inch 1080p, 55-inch, 65-inch 4K HDR TVs and the cheapest 32-inch smart TV in the Mi TV 4A series last year. Now it has introduced a new 50-inch 4K HDR TV in the series. It has PatchWall, a UI layer on top of the Android OS that’s based on deep learning AI technology. Xiaomi started rolling out Android Oreo update for Mi A1 smartphone on 31st December as it had promised. Later it pulled the update due to bugs and said that it will resume in a couple of weeks after fixing the bugs. Now the company confirmed that it has started rolling out a new OPR1.170623.026.8.1.10 update for the smartphone that includes Android Security patch for January 2018 and also includes bug fixes.
The Mi A1 was launched under Android One program with a promise to provide android Oreo update within 2017, Xiaomi started the Beta testing for Oreo based ROM in mid December and started rolling out Android Oreo update to Mi A1 on 31st Dec as it promised. Xiaomi launched the Mi Router 3C, a budget router in India back in May last year for Rs. 1199 and the Mi Wi-Fi Repeater 2 was launched in June for Rs. 999 . During festive sales it offered discount on the router and the repeater, now it has announced a permanent Rs.200 temporary price cut for both. Xiaomi and Oculus at the CES 2018 announced that they are working on two standalone VR headsets – Oculus Go and Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone that will be built by Xiaomi and will be powered the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Mobile VR Platform. These don’t require cable, external sensors, or a mobile phone.

Xiaomi announced Mi Mix 2 in India back in Oct running MIUI 8 on top of Nougat, device received the MIUI 9 Stable update in November itself but Xiaomi did not release any official statement regarding Android Oreo update for the device. The company recently rolled out Android Oreo to Mi A1 which was launched in partnership with Google under Android One program. A fortnight ago company started recruiting Beta testers for Mi 6, and it started rolling out Oreo based MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM to Beta testers last week. Xiaomi announced Mi Drop, inhouse file sharing app like ShareIt during MIUI 9 launch back in November. The app has a user friendly and clean interface, Mi Drop doesn’t show annoying ads unlike other file sharing apps.

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One smartphone in India back in September running stock Android 7.1 (Nougat) in partnership with Google. After beta testing the update earlier this month, Xiaomi has started rolling out stable update for all the users today, just before the year ends, as it had promised at the launch. Last week Motorola announced a temporary price cut for several smartphones online and offline for the festive season, including the Moto G5S Plus.
