Xiaomi rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for testers a couple of weeks back. There were reports that the update added support for fast charging. We were able to test the latest Beta ROM in our unit and can confirm that it indeed brings fast charging support for the phone. This works only when you use a fast charger and not with the bundled charger that has output of only 5V-2A.
Xiaomi has announced Service Order Status feature on Mi India website. Xiaomi introduced the Mi Air Purifier 2 with a smaller design compared to the Mi Air Purifier back in 2015 and it was launched in India last year. Now it has introduced Mi Air Purifier MAX, a bigger Air Purifier for large area offering longer filter life of 6 to 12 months depending on your and it also comes with advanced mute technology that achieves quieter performance even when operating in the highest gear mode by absorbing noise and blocking noise, with noise as low as 34dB (A) in sleep mode.
After its No. 1 Mi Fan Sale online, Xiaomi has announced sale at their Mi Home stores. A year after launching the Mi Band 2 in the country, Xiaomi launched the Mi Band HRX Edition in India in partnership with HRX by Hrithik Roshan back in September. This has the same OLED display and a similar design, but doesn’t have a heart rate sensor. I have been using it for over a couple of months now. Android Oreo adoption rate is slowly increasing with year end, many manufacturers have already revealed list of phones eligible for android update. Google launched Tez mobile payments app based on UPI (Unified Payments Interface) in India back in September this year. Today Xiaomi has announced that it now supports the payment option powered by Tez on Mi.com and the Mi Store app for a cashless transaction. This lets users can pay directly from their bank accounts online for any purchase that they make. Xiaomi released MIUI 9 Global Stable update for its Mi MIX 2 smartphone last month. Today it has announced Android Oreo beta program for the phone, but it is for the MIUI 9 China ROM on its global forum, however it is applicable for all regions. Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One phone in India in partnership with Google back in September in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colors and the Rose Gold variant of the phone went on sale in the country last month. The company recently announced a Rs. 1000 permanent price cut for the phone recently. Today it has launched new Special Edition Red color variant in the country, after it was introduced in Philippines last week.

In an attempt to disrupt the entry-level smartphone market Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A smartphone last month at an aggressive price tag of Rs. 4999. Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One smartphone in India back in September running stock Android 7.1 (Nougat) in partnership with Google. At the launch it promised Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the phone by 2017 and also said that it will also be one of the first phones to get Android P. Last week it started recruitment for Android Oreo beta testers for the phone through Mi Community India as well as MIUI Global Forum and earlier today it selected some active users eligible for the update.
Xiaomi launched the Mi A1, the company’s first Android One smartphone with dual rear cameras in India back in September for Rs. 14,999. Last week it announced a temporary Rs. 2000 price cut for the phone on Flipkart during its Big Shopping Days sale between December 5th and 7th as well as Mi.com. Now it has announced a permanent Rs. 1000 price cut for the phone, so the phone is now available across retailers for Rs. 13,999.
