Goods and Services Tax (GST) was revised for some products in India earlier this month. Xiaomi today slashed the price of most of its accessories in the country. This includes Power Banks, Mi Charger, Mi Car Charger, USB Cable, Cases and Screen Protectors. Price cut vary depending on the device starting from Rs. 20 for USB Fan and screen protectors and goes up to Rs. 200 for the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank 2. Check out the list below.

Just last week, Xiaomi started rolling out Android Nougat based MIUI 9 Beta ROM to its budget oriented device Redmi 4A which was launched back in March 2017 with MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Xiaomi just announced the launch of a new Redmi smartphone on November 30th, few weeks after the launch of new Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite in the new ‘Y series’ in the country. The company is calling it Desh Ka Smartphone, so it will likely be the a budget smartphone. This could the Redmi 5A that was introduced in China last month as the successor to the Redmi 4A. Even the image in the teaser looks somewhat similar to the Redmi 5A.

Earlier: Xiaomi launched Redmi 4 running MIUI 8 based on Marshmallow back in May, the company rolled out Nougat based Stable ROM to the users a fortnight ago just before the MIUI 9 Global launch. As per the announcement, Redmi 4 was kept in the second batch of devices along with Mi 5, Mi Max and others which were supposed to receive the update in mid-Nov. Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One phone in India in partnership with Google back in September in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colors, but only the Black and Gold color variants of the phone went on sale at that time. At the MIUI 9 Global launch, Xiaomi highlighted the fact that even 5-year-old phones including Mi 2/2S are still getting weekly MIUI updates and will also get MIUI 9 Global Stable update. Now, within a couple of weeks, Xiaomi made an announcement on MIUI Forum saying that MIUI updates will be suspended for few of Xiaomi devices after the MIUI 9 update. One of the methods commonly used by the users for manually updating is flashing via updater app, Updater app method should be used only for updating MIUI Stable/Beta ROM.
