Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1 compact, the smaller version of their flagship Xperia Z1 at the CES earlier this week. We already brought you the live images of the Xperia Z1 Compact yesterday, here we have the hands-on video of the smartphone. The phone has the same solid build with single aluminium frame with tempered glass on the front and back that we had seen on the Xperia Z1. Sony SmartBand new SmartWear with removable core unit announced

Sony has just announced SmartBand (SWR10), their first SmartWear that lets you record your activities. It is light and flexible and comes with a removable core unit. It connects to your smartphone over Bluetooth, using the Lifelog application on Android. The SmartBand also lets you track of entertainment and information.

Sony unveiled the Z1 Compact, a mini version of the Xperia Z1 at the CES 2014 earlier today. We could not get our hands on the device, but here are some live images of the device. The Xperia Z1 Compact is the Global variant of the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) for NTT Docomo. It has a bright 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Sony Xperia Z1s with 5-inch 1080p display announced exclusively for T-Mobile in the U.S

Sony Mobile has announced that they would bring Xperia Z1S, the US variant of the flagship waterproof, the Xperia Z1 exclusively for T-Mobile in U.S. It has the same specifications of the Z1, including a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera. Sony schedules an event on January 14th in China, Xperia Z1 mini expected

Sony would unveil a host of home appliances, gadgets and mobile devices at the International CES next week. Sony China has set a press event in China on January 14th 2014. Even though the press invite doesn’t reveal much details , the colors in the Sony China invite shows Lime, Black, White and Pink, similar to the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F), the Japanese variant of the Z1 mini that was released for NTT Docomo last year. Sony is preparing successors for last year’s Xperia E and E dual. The Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 dual has cleared FCC, as spotted by Xperia Blog. Codenames of upcoming Sony smartphones – D200X (D2004, D2005) and D210X (D2104, D2105) appeared online recently, and these upcoming Xperia smartphones have codes names Falcon SS (D200X) and Falcon DS (D210X), respectively, as mentioned on the FCC. Sony launches 2 in 1 Dual Connector USB Drive for smartphones and tablets in India

Sony has announced and launched a very interesting USB storage device that can connect to both PCs and Smartphones. In the days where smartphone storage is becoming increasingly insufficient, Sony has launched a USB device with microUSB port on side and a regular USB port on the other. The tiny device can be used as an external storage for smartphones. Earlier this year, we unboxed a similar Verbatim USB OTG drive and Sony has followed in the footsteps of Verbatim, but have greatly reduced the size of the device making it very compact and easy to use.

Final – Nokia Lumia 1020 vs Sony Xperia Z1 #SmartFone13

After two rounds of really close battles between 8 smartphones, we have come to the finals of the SmartFone 13 championship for the best smartphone of 2013. Two devices have made it to the finals and they are – Nokia Lumia 1020 and the Sony Xperia Z1. Both the phones are awesome on their own and have beaten two other capable smartphones to reach this stage, which removes even an iota of doubt on how great these two devices are. Both being the companies’ respective flagships are packed with innovations as well as top class features. But which one do you think is the best of the two? Sony QX Cameras to get firmware update in January

At IFA 2013 in Berlin, which was held during September, Sony launched their latest flagship Android smartphone – Sony Xperia Z1 and a couple of WiFi enabled QX series lens. Sony’s QX 10 and QX 100 received a lot of acclaim from the industry and are now all set to receive a firmware update. According to Engadget, the update will be coming to the two lenses sometime in January and the update is expected to improve the camera performance.

Sony starts rolling out Android 4.3 Jellybean to Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra

Sony has been one of those companies which has always given a timeline for its Android updates. While other manufacturers are busy working on Android 4.4 KitKat for their flagship devices, Sony is silently pushing relatively minor Android 4.3 Jellybean update to two of its top of the shelf products – Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.

Round 2 – Google Nexus 5 vs Sony Xperia Z1 #SmartFone13

Round 2 of the SmartFone 2013 championship had begun yesterday with a really close competition between the LG G2 vs Nokia Lumia 1020, and today it’s the turn of Google Nexus 5 and the Sony Xperia Z1 to fight it out in our battleground. After winning massively over the iPhone 5s, the Nexus 5 is in contention with the Xperia Z1 which initially trailed so close with the Note 3 and later pulled a massive lead out of the hat. Both these devices are flagships and have their own advantages and disadvantages, so which one do you want to vote for? Time to decide!
