Sony Stylus ES22, a new stylus pen for the Xperia Z Ultra has appeared on the the official website. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra with a 6.44 Inch full HD Triluminous display was launched in India back in July, and we reviewed it in August. Since the phone has a super sensitive screen, you can use any stylus, a ordinary pencil or even a standard pen to interact with the touch screen, even though it doesn’t not detect pressure changes. Sony Xperia Z1 vs Sony Xperia Z

Sony announced their first camera centric flagship device – Sony Xperia Z1 at the IFA 2013 in Berlin. Prior to launch, Sony Xperia Z1 had leaked numerous times that when Sony announced it, nothing came as a surprise – even the 20.7MP camera. Currently, Sony Xperia Z1 has the biggest camera sensor on an Android smartphone, even bigger than the one on the camera-phone – Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, but without the optical zoom.

Sony Xperia Z was announced during CES 2013 nearly ten months back it was Sony’s first Full HD smartphone. Sony Xperia Z was one of the first phones to set the trend for industrial build quality in Sony’s smartphone lineup and it came with water and dust resistance. Sony Xperia Z1 is the successor of Sony Xperia Z in a lot of terms that include a better camera, better processor and supposedly better display.

Sony to roll out Android 4.3 update starting from December, confirms Android 4.4 KitKat update for range of devices

Sony Mobile confirmed the first set of devices that would get the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for range of devices back in July. Now the company has announced that they would roll out the Android 4.3 update for those devices starting from December. These devices include, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia SP, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1.  Sony had also announced that elect (2012) Xperia devices running Android 4.1 would be updated directly to 4.3, skipping the Android 4.2. Now the company has revealed that the Xperia T, Xperia TX and the Xperia V will be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean 4.3 from next month. It has a capacity of 2,800 mAh and high output of 1.5A that ensures for a fast recharge of smartphones on-the-go. The charger comes in 5 vibrant colors and weighs just 84 grams. It  is small, compact and easy-to-carry. It is based on Sony’s Lithium-ion polymer technology that lets the charger retain more than 90 per cent of its capacity at 1,000 charges. The CP-V3 USB Portable Charger can be charged via USB port on PC or using an AC adapter. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Sony Xperia Z1

Sony and Samsung announced their flagship devices at IFA 2013. Samsung was the first company to step into the 5inch + category with their original Galaxy Note and it was a very successful experiment. Samsung continued to reap even bigger rewards with the second interation of the Note series – Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Samsung is all set to make it three in a row with their Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Sony Xperia Z1 vs HTC One

Sony Xperia Z1 is the Japanese company’s latest flagship and it was announced at IFA 2013 in Berlin. Sony Xperia Z1 had been the victim of numerous leaks prior to launch and when Sony announced it, nothing came as a surprise – even the 20.7MP camera. The 20.7 MP is one among the key features of Xperia Z1 and it makes it the smartphone with the biggest camera sensor on an Android smartphone, even bigger than the one on the camera-phone – Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, but without the optical zoom.

HTC One was announced in early half of 2013 during February before the MWC 2013. HTC One continues to be the company’s flagship with its 4.7inch Full HD display, solid aluminum build and it was the first smartphone to come with the UltraPixel camera that allows better low light imaging. HTC One is indeed one of the best looking Android smartphones with a solid build quality and top of the line specifications.

LG had announced their flagship nearly a month before the IFA during the first week of August. LG G2 is the company’s top of the shelf product powered by the best of Snapdragon – Snapdragon 800 . It comes with an unbelievable build that is almost bezel free and has a new design language with the power lock key and the volume rocker at the back of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Sony Xperia Z Ultra

At IFA 2013 in Berlin Samsung announced their Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which is the third iteration of their Galaxy Note series while Sony had announced the Xperia Z Ultra, their first phablet sometime in July. Sony Xperia Z Ultra was the first smartphone to feature a Snapdragon 800 SoC and now the LTE variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has the Snapdragon 800 version. The international version, which we get in India, comes with Samsung’s Exynos Octa core chipset. Lets check out how these devices perform.

Sony Xperia C was announced a long time back, but Sony has launched the product only very recently. Sony Xperia C is at the higher end of the mid-range segment with a quad-core processor from MediaTek and a 5inch display resembling the many soldiers of the droid army in the Indian Android phablet category. It comes with dual-SIM connectivity and a 8MP Sony Exmor R sensor with LED flash.

Sony Xperia C Photo Gallery

Sony announced the mid-range phablet – Sony Xperia C back in July, but the device has been available only since a couple of weeks. Like most of the mid-range budget phablets, the Sony Xperia C is powered by a quad-core processor from MediaTek. It also comes with a 5inch qHD display, a 8MP Sony Exmor R sensor camera at the back. The build quality of the Sony Xperia C is what separates it from the other budget phablets.

Sony reports Q2 FY13 results, mobile sales increase by 39% YoY

Sony Corporation today reported net loss of 19.3 billion yen ($196.65 million) for its second quarter that ended September 30th 2013. Even though it posted a loss, it reported strong smartphones sales in the quarter, which increased 39.3 percent compared to Q2 2012. Even though it is not in the top 5 list of smartphone vendors by shipments as reported by IDC recently, Sony has reported that they have sold 10 million smartphones in the quarter, which is about 0.4 million units more than the last quarter. Sony launched the Xperia C earlier this month. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week, here we have the benchmarks of the device. It has a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. This is the first phone from Sony to feature a MediaTek chip. Let’s find out how this compete with other devices in range of synthetic benchmark tests.

Sony Xperia L Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out in India

Sony Mobile has started rolling out the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) update (version 15.3.A.0.26) for the users. This update brings a revamped homescreen, improved app organization, updated Media apps and new camera modes such as Burst mode and Auto Scene Recognition. Sony released the Xperia C earlier this month running on Android 4.2 out of the box and rolled out the Android 4.2 update for the Xperia Z and the ZL recently. The company has also promised Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for range of devices, but they did not announce the time frame of the roll out yet.
