One of the most popular phones in the series was the Galaxy S3, clocking over 40 million units in sales as of January this year. Samsung launched the much hyped and much anticipated upgrade to the S3 in the form of the Galaxy S4 at an event in New York and the India launch took place last week in Delhi as it is one of the key markets for the Korean smartphone maker. Samsung Galaxy family screen size comparison

Samsung, with a mad obsession with large screened devices, a market they themselves help pioneer, launched two huge handsets fit for their name, namely the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, with the respective screen sizes appended to their name. We found them quite huge, unsurprisingly, and we wanted to see how the trend has been with the Samsung’s Galaxy family of Android devices with respect to growing screen sizes. So yes, we took some devices we had with us to the launch event and put them side to side to see how the screen sizes fared against each other. Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S4 mini, successor of the Galaxy S3 mini ahead of the Samsung Premier 2013 scheduled for June 20th in London. It has a 4.3-inch (960 × 540 pixels) qHD Super AMOLED display, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean with Samsung’s own Nature UX. It packs a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. It has 1.5GB of RAM and packs a 1900 mAh battery. It comes with 4G LTE, or 3G HSPA+ (GT-I9190) or 3G Dual SIM (GT-I9192) depending on the market. Samsung to unveil Galaxy S4 mini on June 20th, detailed specs leak out

Samsung would unveil the Galaxy S4 mini at the Samsung Premier 2013 scheduled for June 20th, according to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal. This coincides with the rumors that surfaced back in March. The Galaxy S4 mini was confirmed from the official App Store listing recently. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 now available on Snapdeal for Rs.24,900

Yesterday, Samsung unveiled two new Galaxy devices at a launch event in Chennai. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 are the two new entrants to the new Mega series of devices solely focused on big screened smartphone computing. Out of the two devices launched, which were set to be available in India real soon, we already have the Galaxy Mega 5.8 listed as available on Snapdeal, the online retailer for a price of Rs. 24,900 which is two hundred rupees lesser than the launch price of Rs. 25,100. Although it is currently listed as sold out, we think that the devices are already trickling down into the retail channels and you will be able to get the device sooner than what Samsung said, we feel. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 Hands on and First Impressions

Here is my first impressions of the just announced Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 which was announced yesterday in Chennai. We got some hands on time with the latest member of the Duos Dual SIM range from Samsung and the handset is also the smaller of the 2 Galaxy Mega devices announced. The phone is priced at Rs.25100 and packs a really large 5.8 inch display with a qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. It also packs 2 microSIM card slots with a Smart Dual SIM feature.  There is 8GB of inbuilt memory on board and also room for expansion using the microSD card slot which supports cards upto 64GB.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Hands On and First Impressions

We just got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and it is truly a mega phone with a massive 6.3 inch screen true to its name. The screen is a Super clear LCD with a 720p resolution and the phone is powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual core Snapdragon processor with 1.5GB of RAM. There is 16GB of inbuilt memory and also a microSD card slot which can take upto  a 64GB  microSD. The phone runs on Android 4.2.2 which is the latest version of Android with Samsung’s TouchWiz layer on top.

Samsung has launched the two new Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 devices here at a launch event in Chennai. The two devices are expected to serve the purpose of the burgeoning “big screen devices” market which Samsung itself contributed in creating it with the original Galaxy Note. These “Mega” devices are true to their name and they are indeed huge. But there are two Mega devices and I am sure, you, like us, would be confused as to which is which and the exact differences between the two. So, here are some photos comparing the two Mega devices. We got our hands on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 here in Chennai where the Korean handset maker launched the new Galaxy Mega range of devices. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 was announced last month, packs a 5.8-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.9 MP front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby and dual SIM Always On feature that enables the user to receive calls on one SIM number while taking a call from the other. Samsung Galaxy Mega might launch in India today

Samsung India is holding a launch event today in Chennai where the company is expected to add an interesting device to it’s Galaxy line up of Android devices.Samsung has not yet revealed what device would be launched but Fone Arena has learned from multiple sources including retailers that Samsung would launch the Galaxy Mega[6.3 inch version], [5.8inch version]in India today. It is not clear if  Samsung would launch both the 5.8 inch and 6.3 inch versions of the Galaxy Mega in India.UK pricing for the 6.3 version was revealed recently along with a July release date. So India might be one of the first few countries to get this new device. It would be worth mentioning that the 5.8 inch version is a Dual SIM phone and less expensive of the lot so we might see Samsung launching the Galaxy Mega 5.8 today.
