Samsung’s earnings guidance for Q3 2017 reveals another record profit

Samsung has posted its earnings guidance for the third quarter of 2017, which reveals that it will post an all time high 14.5 (14.4 ~ 14.6) trillion Korean won ($12.8 billion approx.) in operating profits for the quarter, nearly tripling (178% up) from a year earlier. Samsung introduces 12MP ISOCELL Fast 2L9 Dual Pixel and ISOCELL Slim 2X7 sensors for smartphones

Samsung today has introduced two new image sensors; the ISOCELL fast 2L9 and Slim 2X7. The Fast 2L9 is a 1.28 micrometer 12-megapixel camera sensor while the Slim 2X7 is an ultra-small 0.9μm 24Mp ISOCELL Slim 2X7 with Tetracell technology. Samsung has four categories for their camera sensors; the fast, slim, ultra and bright which the company uses depending on the product. Samsung Galaxy Note8 ties up with iPhone 8 Plus for the top spot on DxOMark

DxOMark is a standard for cameras of smartphones, not so long ago, they have rated the Apple iPhone 8 Plus 94 points which made Apple reclaim the number one spot.
