Xiaomi has surpassed Samsung in the largest smartphone market in India in the Q4 2017 to become the number one brand, according to a report from Cybermedia Research. Xiaomi outshined Samsung in Maharashtra which alone amounted to 13.7% of the sales during the last quarter of 2017. According to CMR, Xiaomi sold over 31.2% of the Smartphones during the period compared to Samsung which sold 15.3%. Samsung rolled out the Android Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ recently and its just a matter of time before it goes live to Note8. Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ with Quad HD+ Infinity display, dual aperture camera launched in India starting at Rs. 57900 and Rs. 64900

Samsung today launched the  Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the company’s latest flagship smartphones at an event in India, as it had promised. These were introduced at the MWC last week and have variable aperture cameras. The S9 has a 12-megapixel rear camera with variable aperture tech that uses f/1.5 aperture for night shots for a brighter picture and f/2.4 aperture for normal shots in daytime. The S9+ has a secondary 12MP Telephoto lens for live focus for bokeh effect with background blur. Samsung Galaxy S9+ outshines Google Pixel 2 for the top spot on DxOMark

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) and Galaxy J6 with Android 8.0 surface in benchmarks

Samsung smartphones with model numbers SM-J337P/SM-J337A and SM-J600F have surfaced in Geekbench, which could be Galaxy J3 (2018) and Galaxy J6. According to the listing both the phones will run Android 8.0 (Oreo) and pack 2GB of RAM.

Samsung announced the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones with new dual aperture camera, Super slo-mo and several features at its Unpacked 2018 event at the MWC 2018 earlier this week.  It also started pre-booking for the phones in India soon after the announcement. Today the company has confirmed that it will launch the flagship smartphones in India at an event on March 6th.
