Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2017, in which the company has made operating profit of 14.53 trillion won ($13 billion), up 179.4% YoY for the quarter that ended September 30, 2017, as expected. This is a new all-time high quarterly profit, due to strong demand for high-performance memory chipsets for servers and flagship mobile devices. Samsung SM-A730x surfaced in Geekbench listing a few months back that revealed some of the specifications of the Galaxy A7 (2018). This week SM-A730F has surfaced on GFXBench listing that reveals that it will be powered by Exynos 7885 14nm processor with Mali-G71 GPU and pack 6GB of RAM. Apple and Samsung will head back again to the district court for yet another iPhone patent damages trial and to determine how much Samsung Electronics Co should pay Apple Inc for copying the look of the iPhone. Judge Lucy Koh, in San Jose, California on Sunday, has signed an order and told both the companies to meet the courtroom again.

it looks like Samsung is currently working on a Dual Wireless Charging Pad something very similar to Apple’s AirPower that was introduced at the iPhone X event. Samsung has filed the patent and had got the approval by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for this new Dual Wireless charging pad. Samsung last year introduced EP-PA710 Qi-based Wireless Charger Tray design that can charge 2 devices wirelessly at once.

Samsung has announced that the 8-nanometer (nm) FinFET process technology, 8nm (Low Power Plus) has been qualified and is ready for production. The 8nm LPP newest process node will offer 10% lower power consumption and will consume 10% less area through narrower metal pitch compared to the 10LPP.

Samsung launched Galaxy Note8 smartphone in India last month for Rs. 67900. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the camera samples from the smartphone. The Galaxy Note8 has a 12-megapixel primary camera with wide-angle lens that has 1.4µm pixel size, 1/2.55″ sensor size, f/1.7 aperture, 77-degree FOV and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), similar to the S8 and also has a 12-megapixel secondary camera with telephoto lens, 1/3.6″ sensor size, f/2.4 aperture, 45-degree FOV and OIS, offering 2x optical zoom.
Samsung has announced the 360 round camera today and as the name suggests it can shoot 360-degree footage. It comes with 17 lenses including eight horizontally positioned stereo speakers and one single lens placed vertically. It can stream and record high-quality 3D content for virtual reality.

Samsung at the on-going Developers conference in San Fransico announced the Bixby 2.0. Bixby is the Samsung’s voice assistant that was introduced along with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ earlier this year to compete against the Google’s Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. It has taken Samsung six months to bring a new updated version of the Bixby AI.

Samsung has slashed the price of three of its smartphones in India. The Galaxy S8+ that was launched back in April for Rs. 64900 has received a Rs. 6000 price cut and is available for Rs. 58,900. Even though the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version had already received two price cuts, this is the first time the 64GB version is getting a price cut.
