Google acquired Quickoffice back in June 2012 and made Quickoffice for Android, iPhone and iPad free for enterprise users in April 2013. Now Google has made these apps free to everyone, and all you need is Google account to use these apps. The app lets view and edit Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint files. Since Quickoffice is integrated with Google Drive, you can store and access your files across devices.Google has also updated these apps with new features including a new icon, ability to create .ZIP folders and view charts in Excel and PowerPoint files. The updated version of the Galaxy Tab 2 311 has a new S3-inspired design and almost the same internals as before. The bezels have become shorter though, making it easier for one handed usage. LG G2 Benchmarks

LG G2 Benchmarks

LG unveiled the G2, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at an event last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) 28nm HPm Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.27 GHz with 480 MHz Adreno 330 GPU. The Xperia Z Ultra was clocked at 2.15 GHz, but the G2 is clocked at 2.27 GHz as you can see in the CPU-Z in the image above. We brought you the benchmarks of the Snapdragon 800 on a reference smartphone few months back. Here we have also compared it in these benchmarks to show you the difference. Even though this one is slightly undercloked than the original chip that is clocked at 2.3 GHz, benchmarks are almost similar.

ZTE becomes India’s leading Data Card vendor with 30.2% marketshare in Q2, 2013

ZTE, the Chinese company known for its communication infrastructure solutions and even smartphone products, is now the leading Data Card vendor in India, with a user base of 63.04% of the total Data Card users. The CyberMedia Research team had released these statistics for the Indian market in their website sometime back, where they actually noted a decline in the Data Card market from the previous year but compared to the last quarter, Q2 has seen a 66.7% growth and about 30.2% of all the new shipments are ZTE cards, according to the data.

Lava has officially launched the Iris 506Q, a new smartphone in the Iris series. It went on sale online earlier this week, but the launch price is cheaper than the online price of Rs. 11700, which is a good thing. It has a 5-inch qHD  (960 × 540 pixels) OGS display,  powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support with dual standby and 3G connectivity. BBM for Android and iPhone coming on September 21st and 22nd respectively

Yesterday, BlackBerry announced their big Z30 and we brought you news that BBM will be available for Android and iOS very soon. After months of waiting, BBM will be finally available as a cross-platform service starting this week. BlackBerry have officially announced that BBM is be coming to Android on September 21st and to iOS on September 22nd.

Panasonic P11 and T11, two new Android smartphones appeared on Flipkart back in July, but those appeared suddenly. Now these phones are available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Panasonic P11 has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and the Panasonic T11 in the new T Series comes with a 4-inch WVGA  (480×800 pixels) display. Micromax to preload BBM on all its Canvas Smartphones

BlackBerry messenger, one of the most popular instant messaging services, had announced its arrival on iOS and Android platforms earlier, but it looks like manufacturers are already warming up to the concept of pre-loading it on their devices. Micromax is the one of the first manufacturers to announce that it will pre-load BBM on all of its Canvas Smartphones starting from the first week of October. But of course existing users too, can download the BBM app through the play store, irrespective of the device they own.

It is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 CPU and runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with OTA updates directly from NVIDIA. Xolo had launched several smartphones in the Q CORE series, the Q1000S is the company’s latest smartphone in the series. It is also the successor of the Q1000 that was launched back in May. The Q1000S that was launched at the end of August at a price tag of Rs. 18,999 has the same 5-inch display, but this has an upgraded 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6489 Turbo processor, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Micromax has launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) multi-touch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has 3G support via a SIM card slot and has voice calling capabilities.

It comes pre-loaded with Opera mini browser,  Spuul to watch free movies online, Music Hub to get access to songs online and M! Live  to download HD/premium games. The M! Security app lets you Back-Up the phone Tracke the tab remotely and Anti-Virus features. It also comes with Look away to pause, Video pinning, pop-up browser and OTA update support similar to the latest Canvas smartphones. This tab would compete with the recently launched Xolo Tab.
