Google acquires Quick Office

Quick Office , the popular productivity app has today been acquired by Google. Quick Office is well known for providing a powerful and feature rich office suite across Android , iOS and Symbian. Google plans to bring the seamless interoperability with popular file formats from Quick Office to its own GDocs solution.

The recently announced Google Drive and the new refreshed Android Google Docs experience show that Google really wants to compete in this field. Google drives comes with a fair bit of word processing capabilities integrated in the app. With the Quick Office acquisition , they should have a solid product under their brand.
