Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025: Over 38 crore visits, 30000 new product launches, and more


Amazon India today announced that the Great Indian Festival, which opened for Prime members on September 22 and all customers on September 23, recorded its largest-ever opening on Amazon.in.

Massive Customer Engagement and New Product Launches

The event drew over 38 crore customer visits, with more than 70% from beyond the top 9 metros. Shoppers accessed over 1 lakh products at the lowest prices, including 30,000 new launches across smartphones, laptops, TVs, fashion, beauty, home décor, appliances, furniture, and groceries from brands including Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, IQOO, Sony, HP, LG, Bosch, Haier, Tirtir, Laneige, and Levi’s.

Prime Members Drive Demand Across Cities

Prime members contributed significantly to sales in tier 2 and 3 cities, particularly in appliances, fashion, beauty, smartphones, and furniture. Delivery efficiency was notable: over 30 lakh products delivered in metros within one day, and 50 lakh products reached tier 2 and 3 cities within two days.

Amazon Business also saw strong engagement, with new business sign-ups increasing 6X in the first 24 hours, and bulk orders growing 4.4X compared to average business days.

GST Benefits Support Category Growth

GST reductions boosted multiple categories:

  • Appliances: ACs, dishwashers, and inverter batteries showed strong YoY growth.
  • Kitchen & eco-friendly products: Eco-friendly units sold 50% more YoY.
  • Groceries: Beverages, oils, and cereals up 15% YoY, high-protein foods and spreads from D2C brands up 27% YoY.
  • Health & wellness: Whey protein increased 28% YoY, vitamins & supplements up 39% YoY, tier 2/3 cities up 21% YoY.
  • Family essentials: Diapers rose 10% YoY, premium baby skincare up 18% YoY.

Premium Products See High Demand

Customers showed preference for premium products:

  • Smartphones above ₹20,000 grew 50% YoY.
  • Premium TVs: QLED up 23%, Mini-LED up 27% YoY.
  • Laptops: MacBook Air M4 sold at 94X business-as-usual levels.
  • Electronics & luxury items: Sony home theatre 196X, lab diamonds 10X, Korean beauty 3X, premium watches 1.5–2X, professional beauty/haircare 2.5X, premium luggage 94%, premium apparel 2.5X, jewelry & silver coins 4.5X.
SMB Sellers Achieve Record Growth

Within the first 48 hours, two-thirds of SMB sellers were from tier 2/3 cities, including Vishakhapatnam, Lucknow, Indore, Ghaziabad, Udupi, Rajkot, Ajmer, Faridabad, and Howrah.

Over 16,000 SMBs tripled their sales, with home, kitchen, apparel, toys, and jewelry emerging as top categories. Local shops achieved record sales, with the highest-ever number of sellers crossing ₹10 lakh milestones.

Amazon Pay and EMI Options Boost Savings

Shoppers saved over ₹260 crore using SBI debit and credit cards. One in four customers used Amazon Pay, and UPI usage grew 18% YoY. EMI purchases accounted for one in five orders, with 80% being no-cost EMI, mainly for mobiles, appliances, and electronics. International flight bookings rose 45% YoY, with fares ranging from ₹1,403 (Delhi–Bhatinda) to ₹4.5 lakh (Mumbai–London).
