Google’s senior vice president for Search, Amit Singhal is bidding adieu to the company after a 15 year long stint. Singhal, who joined Google in 2000 will be replaced by John Giannandrea, currently vice president of engineering and head of artificial intelligence.

Samsung had announced the Galaxy A5, A7 and A3 2016 edition smartphones in December last year. Today, the company has officially launched Galaxy A5 (2016) and A7 (2016) smartphones in India. The second generation of Galaxy A series smartphones come with premium design and enhanced camera features.
After the teaser last month, LG today sent out invites for announcement of its flagship G5 smartphone on February 21st, ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona, the same day Samsung has scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked 2016, where it will introduce the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones. Huawei launched the Honor 5X smartphone in India at a price tag of Rs. 12999 last week. It went on sale yesterday. We already brought you the photo gallery of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-bit processor (Even though CPU-Z shows it has Snapdragon 615) that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.50 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.21 GHz per core. HTC today reported a net loss of NT$ 3.4 billion ($101 million), on revenue of NT$ 25.7 billion ($766 million) for its fiscal 2015 fourth quarter that ended December 31, 2015. This is the third consecutive loss for the company. Even though the operating profit is up 20% quarter-on-quarter, it is down 46% year-on-year. Lenovo has announced results for its third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2015. The company recorded quarterly revenue of $12.9 billion, an 8 percent year-over-year decrease. The company said net profit reached $300 million, up 19% from $253 million in the same period.

After reports, Microsoft has officially announced that it has acquired SwitKey, one of the popular keyboard app makers. The exact amount of the deal is not disclosed, but it is said to be $250 million, according to an earlier report. Microsoft said that it will continue to develop SwiftKey’s keyboard apps for Android and iOS and will also explore scenarios for the integration of the its core technology in its products. Microsoft Lumia 850 render based on factory-acquired schematics surfaced back in December last year, later the case of the smartphone leaked. Now live images of the smartphone have surfaced in a new leak from China (Via). The leak also says that the phone will have a 5.4-inch display compared to 5.5 / 5.7-inch screen as rumored earlier. It shows the smartphone’s metal frame and Iris Scanner at the top right corner.

We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the battery life test results. It packs a 2500mAh built-in battery, slightly less than the 3000mAh battery on the Coolpad Note 3. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor with Mali-T720 GPU and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Cool UI 6.0 on top. Google is out with its Android distribution data for the month of February. Marshmallow is now finally present on 1.2% of devices, up from 0.7% since last month. The latest version of Android had debuted the distribution chart in November last year with 0.3%.
