OPPO just launched F3 Plus, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘F Series’ at an event in India, as it had promised. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 16-megapixel front-facing camera  with 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with an 8-megapixel secondary front camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing better group selfies. It also has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, Sony IMX398 sensor and dual phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) technology.

OPPO bags Indian Cricket Team sponsorship rights till 2022 for Rs. 1079 crore

OPPO is new Official Team Sponsor of the Indian National Cricket Team starting from 1st April 2017 for a period of five years, till 2022 after bidding Rs. 1,079.29 crore. Last year the company was selected as official global partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the mobile phone category till 2020. OPPO introduces world’s first camera module with 5X optical zoom

OPPO at its MWC 2017 event in Barcelona announced new camera technology called 5X, as it had promised. It is a module that uses a periscope structure to divert light 90-degrees through prism into a hidden telephoto lens. “The resulting shift from the light’s natural path delivers an unprecedented level of clarity at any zoom level,” says OPPO. OPPO to unveil 5x smartphone photography technology at the MWC 2017

OPPO just announced that it will unveil a 5x smartphone photography technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona on February 27th. It says that this technology will give users unprecedented ability to capture highly detailed images. It is also calling it  the ‘5x’ Project.

OPPO F1s Teardown

OPPO launched its selfie-centric F1s smartphone in India last year for Rs. 17990. We had seen several versions of the smartphone since then, including a Rose Gold version most recently. Even though this has a familiar design as some of the smartphones with a unibody design, there are a lot of components that go into making the device what that might not be revealed on a regular specs sheet. OPPO launched the F1s, selfie-focused smartphone with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera in India back in August priced at Rs. 17,990. It also launched Diwali Limited Edition smartphone in October and 4GB RAM version in November. Today it has launched Rose Gold Limited Edition smartphone in the country with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, just in time for Valentine’s Day. OPPO, Huawei and Vivo grab nearly half of Chinese smartphone market in 2016: IDC

The smartphone market in China saw a 19% YoY growth and 17% QoQ growth in Q4 2016, according to the latest IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. OPPO, Huawei and Vivo grabbed 48% of the Chinese smartphone market in 2016.

OPPO Find 9 with 5.5-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM could be announced in March

Renders of upcoming OPPO Find 9 surfaced last month revealing bezel-less screen on the sides and minimal bezels on top and bottom for the smartphone. Now a new report from China says that the phone will be introduced in March. Earlier report said that the phone will come in two versions, one with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage and a cheaper variant with Snapdragon 653 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. It was introduced in China back in November last year and packs a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12um pixel size. Oppo Find 9 images surface hinting at bezel-less design

It looks like Oppo is working on a new smartphone that takes design cues from Xiaomi’s Mi Mix. According to the latest leak, the phone is dubbed as Find 9 and sports bezel-less display on the side and minimal bezel on top and bottom.
