Nokia World 2012 advanced to September 5-6 , gets new format

Nokia just announced on it’s official blog that the it has advanced that dates for it’s annual event from Sep 25-26 to Sep 5-6. The venue has also moved from London to Helsinki, Finland. Looks like a change in strategy at Nokia and according to the announcement , Nokia World 2012 will be smaller event compared to the previous years and will be only for operators and retail partners. Nokia World has always been a very big annual event for all things Nokia with folks from the company, partners, developers ,  analysts , journalists , bloggers and industry observers attending the show. Nokia Lumia 610 now in stock at UK retailers

The low-cost Windows Phone from Nokia the Lumia 610 which was announced at MWC 2012 is now in-stock at select retailers in the UK and priced very competitively. The affordable Windows Phone is available from 145.99 GBP excluding VAT ( Rs.12620 approx / 230 USD ) only in Black colour at the moment and the Cyan version is expected to be in stock in a few days. Nokia has announced 2 new Dual SIM phones, Nokia 110 and Nokia 112 that are affordable and are aimed at young and urban consumers. It has apps to access Facebook, Twitter and social media networks.The new Nokia Browser consume less data by up to 90%. Both these phone comes with Exclusive 40 Games Gift from EA from Nokia Store.

Nokia 808 PureView India Price Revealed


Nokia 808 PureView price for India has been revealed as Rs. 29,999. Nokia announced the Nokia 808 PureView at MWC 2012 and announced earlier this month that the phone would go on sale in India and Russia starting this month. The price has not been announced officially but the price of the phone is hidden in the Page Source in Nokia 808 page in the Nokia Online Store. Nokia brings Nokia Store operator billing to Vodafone and Airtel


Nokia has announced that have partnered with Vodafone India and Airtel to offer integrated billing solutions on the Nokia Store in India. They partnered with Reliance to introduce operator billing on Nokia Store last year. This would let users download local and global paid content from the Nokia Store and pay for their downloads as part of their monthly mobile phone bills or have the amount deducted from the pre-paid balance. Nokia launches patent suit against HTC, RIM and Viewsonic

In the latest twist in the never ending saga that is mobile patent lawsuits, Nokia has today filed suit against HTC, RIM and Viewsonic alleging that their products infringe a number of Nokia patents. The claims were filed in United States and Germany, and includes complaints to the US International Trade Commission (ITC). Nokia has alleged that up to 45 patents were infringed upon. Nokia is no stranger to patent disputes, launching a similar claim against Apple a couple of years ago. The legal challenge, which resulted in a counterclaim by Apple, was settled outside the court with the house that Steve build settling an one-off payment while agreeing a cross licensing deal. HTC is also currently embroiled in a legal dispute with Apple over alleged infringements over unlicensed patents.

IDC: Mobile Phone Market Q1 2012 – Samsung, Nokia and Apple top mobile phone vendors by shipments

Samsung, Nokia and Apple are the leading Mobile vendors by shipments in Q1 2012, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The Worldwide mobile phone market declined 1.5% year over year in the Q1 2012 with worldwide shipments of 398.4 million units compared to 404.3 million units in the first quarter of 2011. Nokia has launched the Asha 202, Dual SIM phone in India that was announced at MWC 2012.
