Nokia Lumia 525 Press Image and Specifications leak, sports 1 GB of RAM reportedly

The press image and specifications of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 525 have leaked out, shedding more light on what it might look like and what it might pack inside. Firstly, the press image comes via @evleaks with no additional information while the other leak, from the Chinese network Baidu reveals a lot more than we already know about this rumoured device. Supposedly the successor to the extremely popular Lumia 520, the device looks to sport a slimmer and curvier body from the looks of the leaked image above, and in accordance to the tag of being a successor it also reportedly comes with a 1 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM among other things.

Nokia Illusion rumored to be 8 inch Windows RT tablet

Just a few weeks back Nokia announced its first offering in the tablet segment with the Windows RT running Lumia 2520. It looks like the Finnish company might be working on a companion device in the 8 inch tablet segment. Evan Blass, the person behind @evleaks today revealed that the Nokia Illusion will be their offering for those looking for a smaller tablet. For better or worse, this tablet too will be powered by Windows RT. Like the Lumia 2520, expect to see this powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2Ghz and pack a Carl Zeiss equipped camera at the back.

We’ve seen the competition really heat up in the smaller tablet segment with the Nexus 7 and iPad Mini doing extremely well. This is partially because of the extra portability on offer and to some extent, the pricing advantage. Nokia’s sunlight readable display would be an even bigger selling point at the 8 inch size segment. We expect to see this device at CES in January.

Nokia, Samsung extend patent license deal for five years

Nokia has announced that Samsung has extended the patent license deal with the company for five years, before it expires at the end of 2013. Samsung will pay additional compensation for the period commencing from January 1, 2014 onwards based on the agreement. There’s no word yet on how much the deal is worth, but Nokia says that compensation amount of this deal would finally be settled during 2015. Nokia is back in the smartphone race as it becomes the fourth largest smartphone brand in US

Nokia posted its Q3 2013 sales report a week back and it showed signs that the Finnish mobile phone giant is slowly fighting its way back into the smartphone race. Nokia saw a successfully Q3 2013 where it sold 8.8 million Lumia smartphones which was 1.4 million more than its previous quarter – Q2 2013 where it managed to sell around 7.4 million smartphones. During the course of Q3, the biggest gain for Nokia was the increase in Lumia smartphone sales in USA.

During Q2 2013, Nokia sold less than half a million Lumia smartphones in US and that numbers hugely improved as Nokia was able to sell nearly 1.4 million smartphones in USA during Q3 2013. The entry range smartphones like Lumia 520 were the driving force behind Nokia’s surge in the smartphone market in US.

Nokia highlights Refocus and RAW with great camera samples

Apart from the marquee product launches of the Lumia 1520, the 1320 and the Lumia 2520 Windows tablet, two other announcements stood out from the Nokia World event, and the both were related to Nokia’s forte – imaging. The company announced a new imaging app for its Lumia smartphones called the Nokia Refocus, and also announced that the Lumia 1020 and the upcoming Lumia 1520 will be getting RAW support. With these announcements, the gap between Nokia and other companies in the imaging department became way wider than it is already. Especially with RAW, which is considered a landmark announcement for serious photographers who like to play around with the whole sensor’s data. Refocus too, kindled the “shoot first, focus later” mantra that the Lytro popularized. Nokia Q3 2013 sales at Eur 5.66 billion, 8.8 million Lumias sold

Nokia just published its quarterly earnings report for Q3 2013 and has reported sales worth Eur 5.66 billion in the quarter ending September. While sales have gone, profits have also increased at Eur 118 million which is a huge improvement over the Eur 115 million losses that it reported last quarter. Nokia Lumia 1320 Hands On

Nokia announced their budget phablet Nokia Lumia 1320 along with the Nokia Lumia 1520 at the Abu Dhabi Nokia World event. The specifications of the budget phablet include a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD LCD IPS Super sensitive display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and Windows Phone 8 OS with the latest Lumia Black update. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Nokia Music is available for free streaming of ad-free music along with Nokia HERE maps and location services.

Nokia Asha 503 Hands On

Nokia said an interesting good-bye at the Nokia World Event, Abu Dhabi before being taken over by Microsoft by announcing a few Lumia smartphones and Asha feature phones. Nokia Asha 503 was the high-end phone among three Ashas that were launched. Asha 500 shares the same design language as the other Asha 500 series devices, but comes with a new crystal-clear look fusion of ice-like transparency and bold inner color. The Nokia Asha 503 comes with a bigger 3inch display, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and 3G connectivity.

Nokia Asha 502 Hands On

Nokia World Event was held at Abu Dhabi as Nokia’s final event before being taken over by Microsoft and Nokia announced a few devices that included a few Lumias and a few Asha phones. Among those few Asha devices was the Nokia Asha 502. The phone shares the same looks as the other devices in Asha 500 series, but comes with a new crystal-clear look fusion of ice-like transparency and bold inner color. Nokia Lumia 2520 Power Keyboard Hands On

The Nokia World event has seen to the introduction of the new Lumia 2520 Windows tablet from the company, restarting its good old Booklet 3G tradition. While the Booklet 3g was a note book, the 2520 is far from it. It is a full touch device, conforming to the demands of today, but of course, you can do work on the 2520 using the pre-installed office suite, but that would be a waste if there is no keyboard/mouse combo. Nokia knows that, and has seen the popularity of the Microsoft Surface accessories, so it has launched a really versatile accessory called the Power Keyboard, which adds a keyboard, a trackpad, complete protection for the tablet in the form of a folio and a battery that can provide 5 extra hours over the original battery life. Nokia Asha 500 Hands On

At the Abu Dhabi Nokia World Event, Nokia announced a few Lumia smartphones and few Asha feature phones. Among the Asha phones announced, the Asha 500 was the entry range device. The phone looks very much like the Asha 501 which was announced a few months back, but comes with a new crystal-clear look fusion of ice-like transparency and bold inner color.

Nokia Lumia 2520 Hands On

Nokia unveiled the Lumia 2520, the company’s first Windows RT tablet at the Nokia World along with a range of Lumia and Asha devices. We already brought you the photo gallery of the tablet, here we have the hands-on video. The Lumia 2520 has a 10.1-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS ClearBlack display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection and runs on Windows 8.1 RT OS. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor. It has a 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 F-Stop/Aperture and 720p HD video recording at 30 fps.It also has stereo front facing speakers. Check out the hands-on below.

Nokia unveiled the Lumia 1520, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at the Nokia World earlier this week. We already brought you the photo gallery of the smartphone, here we have the hands-on. This is the first Windows Phone smartphone with a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD capacitive touch screen ClearBlack display and the display has Gorilla Glass 2 protection. Nokia Lumia 1520 vs Nokia Lumia 925 Hands On

Nokia launched some smartphones and feature phones at the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi. They also launched their flagship device – Nokia Lumia 1520. The Nokia Lumia 1520 is a definite flagship phone as it packs top of the shelf specifications under a Full HD display. It is also the company’s first phablet and first Windows Phone phablet. The Nokia Lumia 925 on the other hand is a relatively old phone which was launched earlier this year and it built upon the PureView camera of Nokia Lumia 920 in a much lighter body.

Nokia Lumia 1520 Vs LG G2 Hands On

Nokia World event, held at Abu Dhabi witnessed a lot of device announcements from the Finnish company and among the smartphones announced was Nokia’s first phablet – Nokia Lumia 1520. Nokia Lumia 1520 is the first Windows Phone device to be powered by a quad-core processor and not only is it the first phablet from Nokia, but it is also the first Windows Phone phablet.
