Slotting in between the Nokia 7 Plus and the 6 series, the all new Nokia 7.1 is an interesting device that is bringing the best of  Nokia’s design chops to the mid range segment. A device that is predominantly designed to make inroads in the European markets, it plays it safe but makes the right additions to make it all the more appealing. Android Pie update coming to Nokia 6.1 and 6.1 Plus in October, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco in November

HMD Global rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) update for the Nokia 7 Plus last week. Today the company at its Nokia 7.1 launch event in London announced when the Pie update will arrive for its older phones.

Nokia 7.1 with 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 HDR PureDisplay, Snapdragon 636, Dual rear cameras with ZEISS optics announced

HMD Global just announced the Nokia 7.1, the company’s latest mid-range Android One smartphone, after it surfaced recently. The main highlight of the phone is its 5.84-inch Full HD+  19:9 screen with a notch, 80% screen-to-body ratio, has support for HDR and also supports SD to HDR real-time conversion. With HDR10 support; 1 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio; 500-million pixels processed per second providing smooth and accurate HDR video.The display also adapts to indoor and bright outdoor sunlight. The company calls it PureDisplay. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) but the company has promised Android 9.0 (Pie) update . Nokia 7.1 with 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 display, Snapdragon 636, Dual rear cameras with ZEISS optics surfaces

After the Nokia 7.1 Plus (TA-1131) got certified by TENAA last week, now the live images and specifications of the Nokia 7.1 (TA-1100) has surfaced. This reveals a 5.84 FHD+ display with a notch and Snapdragon 636 SoC, similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, and the cameras with feature ZEISS optics with support for HDR videos. Images reveal a glass back, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a metal frame.

Nokia 7.1 Plus (X7) with 6.18-inch FHD+ 19:9 display, Snapdragon 710, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras gets certified

After live images, the Nokia 7.1 Plus aka X7 has been certified by TENAA. This reveals a 6.18-inch Full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, 2.2GHz Octa-Core SoC with could be the Snapdragon 710, up to 6GB of RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 13-megapixel secondary camera, probably similar to the Nokia 7 Plus, and a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. Nokia 7 Plus Android 9.0 (Pie) stable update finally starts rolling out

After confirming earlier this week that the Android Pie update for the Nokia 7 Plus is in final stages, Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global just announced that update for the smartphone has started rolling out, as the company had promised. The update for the phone was confirmed at the launch. Other smartphones will get the Pie update in the coming months.

Verizon, Nokia and Qualcomm achieve 1.45Gbps advanced LTE speeds

Verizon, Nokia, and Qualcomm Technologies recently reached peak data speeds of 1.45 gigabits per second (Gbps) on LTE in a live commercial environment using six channel carrier aggregation. For the first time in the USA, three companies in a commercial environment combined six separate channels of the spectrum. Nokia 7 Plus Android 9.0 (Pie) update in final stages of testing, stable roll out expected soon

Google introduced Android Pie Beta program for a range of smartphones including the Nokia 7 Plus back in May. It released Android P Developer Preview 5 (Beta 4) for the smartphone last week. At the Nokia 6.1 Plus launch last month the company said that the Nokia 7 Plus will get the stable Android Pie update in September, but we are nearing the end of the month.

It has a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm processor with 3GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS, which is upgradable to Android P. Nokia 7 Plus on Android Pie beta gets Digital Wellbeing via a Play Store update

Nokia 7 Plus is one of the first set of devices to get Android 9.0 Pie beta when it is announced by the Google at I/O 2018. At the same event, Google announced the Digital Wellbeing feature which was made available in beta back in August. It was available only to Pixel smartphones running Android Pie. Nokia 3.1 Android 8.1 Oreo update starts rolling out in India

HMD Global announced Nokia 3.1, successor of last year’s Nokia 3 back in May, and it was launched in India in July Android 8.0 (Oreo). Sprint and Nokia to demo First Live 5G NR Connection over Massive MIMO

Nokia and Sprint today announced that they will showcase the first live demonstration of a 5G New Radio (NR) connection over a dual mode-capable Massive MIMO radio at Sprint’s booth during Mobile World Congress Americas. For this, both the companies will use Sprint’s 2.5 GHz spectrum, Nokia’s commercial AirScale Base Station and Massive MIMO Active Antenna, and a VIAVI TM500 5G test device emulator. Nokia 9 (TA-1094) with Penta-Lens camera module with ZEISS optics surfaces in live image

After rumors of Nokia phone with 5-camera lens on the back, the design sketch of it surfaced earlier this year. Now a prototype of the smartphone has surfaced in China with a similar design. Earlier rumors revealed that Foxconn is working to design and wil manufacture the phone. It has a model number TA-1094 and is rumored to release as Nokia 9 sometime early next year.
