Microsoft Windows 10 with Cortana, Continuum and more now available

Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 10 upgrade for existing users in 190 countries who have reserved for the update. You can even reserve it now to get added to the list, confirms Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore. As the company announced earlier Windows 10 will roll out in waves for the users starting today. Windows 10 brings Cortana voice assistant to PCs, Microsoft Edge browser, New Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People, Mail & Calendar apps, Windows Continuum, Windows Hello for secure logins and more new features. Microsoft Arrow launcher for Android released in private beta

Microsoft has started testing its upcoming Arrow launcher in private beta. It has three screens – People, Apps and Notes & Reminders. People screen shows recent and Frequent contacts, a dialer on the top and a menu to open contacts app. The Apps screen shows recent and frequent apps. The Notes & Reminders screen lets you add notes and add a reminder for them. All the screen have a row in the bottom for user-selected quick access apps.

Microsoft is working on two Lumia phones – Lumia 950 (codenamed Talkman) and the Lumia 950 XL (codenamed Cityman) whose specs have been leaked by Windows Central. Both the devices had first surfaced in May.

Microsoft reports $22.2 billion revenue in Q4 FY 2015, 8.4 million Lumia smartphones sold

Microsoft has reported a revenue of $22.2 billion revenue in Q4 FY 2015 that ended June 30th, 2015. The software giant also posted a net loss of $3.2 billion.

Hyperlapse app for Windows Phone gets support for older Lumia devices

Microsoft has updated Hyperlaspse app for Windows Phone with support for more Lumia devices. The app which lets users create time-lapse videos will now be available for older versions of Windows Phone.

Microsoft rolling out firmware update to enable 4G support for some Lumia phones in India

Microsoft India is currently rolling out a minor software update to select Lumia devices to support 4G LTE networks. As Airtel continues to roll out its 4G service across the country Microsoft saw the need to enable 4G radios on devices which have the functionality built into the hardware but lacked the necessary software. So if you are using a Microsoft or Nokia Lumia device which has support for 4G globally, you should update your device to make the jump to 4G. Microsoft to partner with Foxconn to manufacture smartphones in India

Microsoft could enter into a deal with Foxconn to manufacture phones in India, as per the Economic Times. The Taiwanese contract manufacturer will start manufacturing smartphones locally for Microsoft in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.

Microsoft merges OneNote app for iPhone and iPad, updates Android app

Microsoft has combined both iPhone and iPad apps into one universal app. Now there will be just one OneNote app for all iOS devices and iPad users will be prompted to re-download the app the next time they launch it.
