
Microsoft’s patent licensing business has been known to be one of the more profitable ventures for the company. Indeed, the acquisition of Finnish giant Nokia was to a large degree for its large patent portfolio which would open more revenue streams for Redmond. The new SKU of the Surface Pro 3 integrates the Core i7 processor of the higher end version while cuts down on storage to make it just that much more affordable for users.
