LG introduces 3500W XBOOM mini CL98, 2000W XBOOM OL100 and more speakers ahead of CES 2019

Ahead of CES 2019 next week, LG has introduced new XBOOM series of speakers that includes new flagship XBOOM mini component (CL98) with 3,500W output and high-end XBOOM (OL100) with 2,000W output. XBOOM series have aptX HD codec for lossless hi-resolution audio streaming over Bluetooth and Wireless Party Link lets you connect multiple speakers. The models also come with Karaoke Star feature that can suppress the vocals on almost any track. LG patents hint at a smartwatch with built-in camera

WIPO and USPTO published a patent of an LG smartwatch and method for controlling same on December 20, 2018. The patent hints at a smartwatch with a camera in the watch band. It is necessary to move the camera to get a clean photograph which is easy with a smartphone, but it’s a bit difficult on a wrist. LG patent hints at a smartphone with 16 rear cameras

LG is planning to take its smartphone camera up a notch as the Korean company filed a patent with USPTO for a smartphone with 16 camera lenses. The patent was granted on 20 November 2018. LG trademarks Flex, Foldi, and Duplex foldable smartphone names

Back in October, LG too joined the foldable smartphone race when CEO Hwang Jeong-hwan confirmed the same. There were also rumors that LG would showcase the phone at CES 2019. However, there is still much unknown about this LG foldable smartphone, including the name.

LG patents show smartphone design with an in-display selfie camera

Despite facing tough times with the smartphone division, LG isn’t giving up anytime soon. We have recently seen the company filing patents for square-shaped camera setup on the rear. This time, the company has filed for multiple design patents in South Korea with KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) for a full-screen smartphone with a camera under the display.
