Ahead of IFA later this week, LG has introduced the G7 One, Android One smartphone with stock Android, and the LG G7 Fit. Both these have a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision LCD Super Bright display, are IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, meet MIL-STD 810G requirements, have Hi-Fi Quad DAC, 8-megapixel front camera and a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0, similar to the LG G7 ThinQ . LG to expand Google Assistant-equipped AI ThinQ TVs to more markets

LG today announced that the company would integrate Google Assistant on their 2018 TVs with AI ThinQ in the Q4 of 2018. LG also mentioned that it would be introducing the Google Assistant in seven more markets – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom with support in up to five languages. LG Display doubles large-size OLED Panel sales in H1 2018, crosses 1.3 million units

LG Display today announced today that its global sales of large-size OLED panels has crossed 1.3 million units in the first half of 2018, more than double the sales of 0.6 million units of large-size OLED panels in the first half of 2017. The company expects to sell more than 2.9 million units of large-size OLED panels this year compared to 200,000 units in 2013 and 1.7 million units in 2017. LG G6 Android Oreo update finally starts rolling out in India, brings ThinQ branding

After V30+, LG has finally started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the LG G6 smartphone in India. This will turn the phone into LG G6 ThinQ and also brings out several new features, including new camera app layout, but it doesn’t bring AI Cam like the V30+. LG G7+ ThinQ with 6.1-inch QHD+ display, Snapdragon 845, 16MP dual rear cameras, 128GB storage launched in India for Rs. 39990

LG just launched the company’s flagship G7+ ThinQ smartphone in India. It was introduced back in May and has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision LCD Super Bright display that can be viewed easily even under direct sunlight with brightness up to  1,000 nit, displaying 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of RAM.

LG Q8 (2018) with 6.2-inch FHD+ FullVision Display, military-level durability, Hi-Fi Quad DAC announced

LG has announced new Q8, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘Q series’ soon after the introduction of Q7. It has the same 6.2-inch FHD+ FullVision Display, is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC with 4GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), has a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. LG opens AI Research Lab in Toronto, Canada

LG Electronics has opened a new AI Research Lab in Canada soon after the opening of LG Silicon Valley AI Lab in Santa Clara, California. LG has announced new Signature Edition smartphone, the company’s latest premium smartphone in the ‘LG SIGNATURE’ series and the successor of last year’s Signature Edition in Korea. It is made of premium materials such as zirconium ceramic back cover that prevents scratches. Customers can also engrave their name on the back of the phone, similar to the predecessor. LG mobile losses widen as net profit falls 36% YoY in Q2 2018

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 15.02 trillion won (US$ 13.9 billion) for the second quarter that ended June 30, 2018, which is up 3.2% compared to the same quarter last year. It posted profits of 771 bilion won (US$ 715.1 million), up 16.1% YoY, while net profit was down to 326.5 billion won (US$ 291.6 million) from 514.9 billion won, down 36.5% YoY. First-half 2018 sales and operating profits were at all-time record highs. Revenues increased 3.2% from the 2017 first half to 30.14 trillion won (US$ 28 billion) and operating income rose 18.5% to 1.88 trillion won (US$ 1.7 billion). LG V90 trademark filing surfaces in Mexico

Details about the LG V40, the next flagship in the ‘V Series’  code-named ‘Storm’ surfaced back in April, now the Korean giant has filed for trademark of V90 in Mexico. This could be entirely a new smartphone for Mexican markets or the V40 could release as V90. The trademark filing that was registered on July 13th doesn’t reveal any other details of the smartphone except for the name.

LG is finally rolling out the Oreo update to the LG V30 Plus which will turn the phone into LG V30 ThinQ with AI Camera. After updating, the start screen of the device will now show LG V30ThinQ branding instead of LG V30 Plus. LG Display said to supply 2 to 4 million OLED Panels for 6.5-inch Apple iPhone X Plus

Back in July 207, there were reports that Apple is on the verge of investing around $2.7 billion in LG to get OLED panels for future iPhones. However, we now hear that the Korean firm is almost ready to become Apple’s second supplier for OLED screens.
