LG Q9 One Android One smartphone with 6.1-inch QHD+ display, Water-resistant body, military-level durability announced

LG has introduced Q9 One, the company’s new Android One smartphone in Korea. It has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision display, is powered by  Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, meets MIL-STD 810G requirements, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC. This was introduced as G7 One back in August last year at the IFA. The company recently introduced the Q9 smartphone in Korea.

LG profit down 80% as smartphone sales continue to decline in Q4 2018

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 15.77 trillion won (US$ 13.99 billion) for the fourth quarter that ended December 31, 2018, which is down 7% compared to the same quarter last year, as expected. It posted profits of 75.7 bilion won (US$ 67.1 million), down 79.3% YoY, while net profit was down 80.7 billion won from 182.8 billion won a year earlier. LG V50 ThinQ with 6-inch display, Snapdragon 855, 5G support said to be introduced at MWC 2019

LG is reportedly working on its first 5G smartphone; the LG V50 ThinQ which is rumored to go official at the MWC in February; earlier than Samsung Electronics first 5G model; the Galaxy S10 X. The company is said to announce two models of LG G8 ThinQ and LG V50 ThinQ at the International Conference Hall (CCIB) in Barcelona on April 24th. LG, KAIST teamup for development of 6G mobile communication technology

While the development of 5G is still underway, South Korean giant LG has taken early steps to secure core technologies for 6G mobile communication. The company teamed up with KAIST which is state science school. LG has opened a 6G research lab at the state-run Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) in the central city of Daejeon. LG has posted a teaser video on its social channels announcing its 2019 Premiere at the MWC 2019 in Barcelona on February 24th. The teaser says ‘Goodbye Touch’ hinting at gestures for the smartphone. As rumored earlier, we can expect the LG’s flagship G8 smartphone at the event.

LG has launched  V40 ThinQ penta camera smartphone in India, as it was teased earlier week. It was introduced  back in October last year and packs a 6.4-inch FullVision OLED display, triple rear cameras with 16MP 107-degree super wide-angle, 12MP standard angle and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom and Triple Shot feature stitches together the images captured with each of the three lenses into a short video file for easy sharing. LG G7 ThinQ Android Pie update rolling out starting from Korea, update schedule for V35 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ, V30, G6 and more confirmed

LG has finally rolled out  Android 9.0 (Pie) update for its G7 ThinQ smartphone starting from Korea, as it had promised last month. The company has also shared update schedule for older smartphones, including some of the Q and X series smartphones in Korea, which extends throughout the year. Hope we can expect the global roll out soon after the roll out in Korea.

After rumors, Amazon has confirmed that V40 ThinQ penta camera smartphone will go on sale in India from January 20th exclusively on Amazon.in with early access for Prime members starting January 19th at 12PM. LG partners with Microsoft for autonomous vehicle and infotainment tech

LG Electronics has announced that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft to enhance and further grow LG’s autonomous vehicle and infotainment system business. Under this agreement, LG will accelerate the transformation of its existing digital platform for the vehicle industry, by leveraging Microsoft’s Azure cloud and artificial intelligence technologies along with LG’s future self-driving software.
