Lenovo, a leader in the PC industry, has been widely known for its well built notebooks and other PC devices, but at the same time, has not been well known for its smartphones. In an effort to change that image, every company needs a hero device that is the flagship of its portfolio, to induce that halo effect on its other smartphones. Launched at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, the Lenovo K900 is poised to be the flagship device that Lenovo hopes to lead its portfolio. The device landed in India just a few weeks back and we had already given our first impressions of it earlier. So, does it live up to the flagship status? Lenovo K900 Gaming Performance Overview

While we are busy writing our complete review of the Lenovo K900, we thought it would be right to show you the gaming performance overview, as a glimpse into the performance aspect of the Intel Z2580 system on a chip residing inside this flagship device. The 2 GHz dual core processor has a total of 4 threads thanks to Intel’s own Hyper Threading technology and giving company is the PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 for graphics. Impressively enough, the GPU is clocked at a high 533 MHz frequency, making it one of the fastest clock rates for the specific model. All said, lets move on to the gaming part of the device then!

Lenovo launched the K900, the company’s flagship Android smartphone in India last month at a price tag of Rs. 32,999. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by a  dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor clocked at 2 GHz with Intel Hyper-Threading and PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. The K900 is Lenovo’s massive flagship device that recently launched in India for Rs. 32,999. Boasting some impressive specs, it has landed in our labs for testing. The huge 5.5 inch 1080p IPS screen is coupled with powerful internals such as the 2 GHz dual core Intel CloverTrail processor and the 13 megapixel Sony Stacked CMOS sensor camera, making it a very impressive package. This got us excited for the unboxing and the initial walkthrough of the device, which we captured in a video here –

Lenovo plans to launch sub-Rs.5000 smartphones in India

Lenovo has plans to launch devices priced below Rs 5,000 to India, according to a recent report from The Hindu Business Line. The report also says that Lenovo aims to sell 1 million smartphones in India this year. Lenovo entered into the smartphone market in India last year with launch of 5 Android smartphones priced between Rs. 6499 and Rs. 28499. The company launched range of smartphones, A390, A706, S820, P780, S920 and K900 last week priced between Rs. 8689 and Rs. 32999. The reason behind this new move is their shrinking PC business. Lenovo today introduced its flagship smartphone, the Intel CloverTrail+ powered Lenovo K900, in India. Show off earlier at CES, the phone has a mammoth 5.5inch Full HD display that is covered by a Gorilla Glass 2 panel. Under the hood is a 2Ghz dual core Intel Atom Z2580 processor. During our brief time with the phone we felt that this processor was more than capable of keeping everything running smooth. Lenovo has launched the S820 along with S920 in the S Series. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D IPS curved glass display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 5.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera capture 100 consecutive shots in burst mode. It comes with dual SIM support and is just 7.9mm thick. The flood gates are open, and Lenovo has launched a total of six smartphones in India, targeting all kinds of price points and markets. Amongst the ones launched, the Lenovo A390 is a entry level Android ICS 4.0.4 phone that comes at a price of Rs. 8,689. Sporting a 4 inch WVGA display and powered by a 1 GHz MTK6577 dual core processor, the phone aims to satisfy new smartphone buyers as well as budget minded smartphone buyers. It has 512 MB of RAM with 4 GB of internal storage and claims to pack a decent 5 megapixel camera unit, without a LED flash.

Lenovo has launched the P780, successor of the P770 we reviewed recently. The Lenovo P770 had a 3500 mAh battery, this one has a 4000 mAh battery. Other features have also been upgraded. The P780 has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capactive touch screen IPS display with 178 degrees viewing angle, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support similar to the P770 and is just 9.9mm thick. Lenovo A706 launched in India, 4.5 inch FWGA display, Quad Core processor and 2000 mAH battery for Rs. 15949

Lenovo has launched a total of six smartphones today, at an event in New Delhi, India. Amongst the six, the Lenovo A706 is a mid range model with modest specs and a equally modest price. With a 4.5 inch FWGA 854×480 display, the A706 might be lacking when directly compared with the 5 inch 720p displays in competing phones of the same price range, but it makes up for it in having an IPS display. The device is powered by a 1GHz quad core processor, and if our assumptions are true, it is a slightly underclocked version of the Snapdragon 200 MSM8225Q with Adreno 203 graphics. Priced at Rs. 15,949, this is Lenovo’s play at the mid range.

Lenovo K900 with 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor launched in India for Rs. 32999

Lenovo has finally launched the K900, the first Intel Clover Trail+ powered smartphone in India. It was unveiled at the CES 2013 earlier this year and was expected to launch in India last month. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with at 419 PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 2 protection, powered by a  2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading technology to boost performance efficiency and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor BSI sensor, LED Flash and F1.8 focal length lens for wide aperture. The 2-megapixel front-facing camera has 88 degree viewing angle.
