Apple has now sold 700 million iPhones!

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook at the company’s ‘Spring Forward’ event in San Francisco revealed that they have now sold 700 million iPhones across the globe. The Cupertino giant has achieved the feat in just a little more than seven years after first iPhone went on sale.

Apple to likely debut its Beats music streaming service in June

Apple is planning to take wraps off its Beats music streaming service  at the WWDC in June, according to a latest report from 9to5Mac. Several reports had earlier stated that the company is planning a Beats powered music streaming service.

Apple iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5S price increase by up to Rs. 2500 in India

Apple has increased the price of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 5S smartphones in India. The increase price could be the result of increase in excise duty on mobile phones imported into India, which was increased to 12.5% from existing 6% in the recent Union Budget. Apple Watch ‘Spring forward’ event set for March 9th, will be live streamed

Apple has started sending invites for its Spring forward event before the Apple Watch goes on sale in April. The event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. The Apple Watch was announced in September last year along with the new iPhones and will come in two different sizes, three different styles – the regular model, a Sport version aimed at active consumers, and an ultra-premium Apple Watch Edition which will be covered in 18-karat gold. Apple ordered by Jury to pay $532.9 million in patent trial

Apple has been ordered by the Jury to pay $533 million for infringing patents with iTunes, as per a report from Bloomberg. The company was asked to pay for infringing three patents owned by Smartflash, a Texas-based patent licensing company.

RBS and NatWest banks to use TouchID fingerprint scanner

RBS and Natwest will become the first UK banks to use Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner. The banks will allow there customers to access their accounts with a swipe of their finger on their iPhone’s Touch ID.

Apple adds two factor authentication for iMessage and FaceTime

With an aim to strengthen the security further, Apple has added  two factor authentication for iMessage and FaceTime. Previously, users that had two-factor enabled could log in to iMessage or FaceTime without requiring the time sensitive codes that should be required.
