Xiaomi launched the second-generation Android One device – Mi A2 in India earlier this month. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised Android version updates along with monthly security patch updates as the device was launched under the Android One program. POCO F1 Hands On and First Impressions

It’s safe to say that Xiaomi can be credited for kickstarting the whole affordable flagship trend with the launch of the Mi3 way back in 2014. There’s been ample competition since then with OnePlus standing out in particular as a success story. Enter POCO, an entire new sub-brand building on the strengths of Xiaomi. The POCO F1 is the first phone under this brand and like its namesake race, this is one screaming fast phone. Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO just launched the F1, the company’s first smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.18-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a notch, is powered by Snapdragon 845 with up to 8GB RAM and LiquidCool Technology. It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with MIUI on top with POCO launcher, and the company has promised Android 9.0 (Pie) update in Q4 2018.

You can now switch to MIUI Beta ROM without unlocking Bootloader

Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular Android skins with more than 200 million worldwide users. MIUI Beta ROM gets updated biweekly, which includes closed beta on every Tuesday and public beta on every Friday but all devices running MIUI come with MIUI Global Stable ROM pre-installed. Users could switch to MIUI Global Beta ROM using Updater method or Fastboot method but company always advised users to flash MIUI Global Beta ROM using Fastboot method after unlocking the bootloader of their device, but now users don’t need to unlock bootloader to switch to MIUI Global Beta ROM. Xiaomi introduced the Mi Pad 4 back in June, today it has introduced the Mi Pad 4 Plus, a larger version with a 10.1-inch WUXGA screen with 16:10 aspect ratio, fingerprint sensor on the front, in addition to AI face unlock present in the Mi Pad 4, up to 128GB storage and a large 8620mAh battery. Xiaomi introduces Mi RGB Backlit Gaming Mechanical Keyboard and Water-resistant Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset Youth Edition

Xiaomi last week introduced new Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with customizable RGB lights for all the 104 keys and Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset Youth Edition. It has TTC Red switches with a 3-mm travel distance. It uses Sonix microcontroller with a 32-bit Cortex-M0 core and USB interface supporting a 1000 Hz polling rate.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro finally goes on open sale in India

Back in June Xiaomi announced that the combined sales of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro have crossed 5 million sales in India, since it was launched back in February this year, and also claimed that it is the fastest selling phone series in India to cross the 5 million mark in the given time across all platforms. Today the company has started selling the Redmi Note 5 Pro through open sale, after conducting weekly sales for about 6 months. Xiaomi teases its new POCO sub-brand and POCOPHONE smartphone ahead of India launch

Xiaomi has finally started teasing its sub-brand POCO in India ahead of the launch of POCOPHONE F1 in the country. Jai Mani, lead product manager, Xiaomi India tweeted that he has been working on the project. Even though the phone it teased as POCOPHONE by Xiaomi for global markets, it is teased as POCO by Xiaomi in India, which rhymes like OPPO who launched the Realme sub-brand recently to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi.

Xiaomi POCOPHONE  F1 surfaced in an online listing in Romania this week, now the unboxing of the smartphone has surfaced online. This shows a display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch, Snapdragon 845 SoC with support for liquid cooling ,6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, dual rear cameras, 20MP front camera along with IR face unlock, similar to the Mi 8, fingerprint sensor on the back and a 4000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging along with QC 3.0 charger in the box. Xiaomi just launched Mi A2, the company’s latest Android One smartphone in India, as it had promised. It packs a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 display, is powered by Snapdragon 660, has a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.75 aperture, Sony IMX486 sensor along with a 20-megapixel secondary rear camera with Sony IMX376 sensor to capture depth information for portrait shots with AI, has intelligent scene detection and has auto sensor section . It also has the same 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor for the front camera with soft LED flash and AI beautification. Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 with 5.99-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 845, dual rear cameras surface

After getting certified by the FCC last month, the Xiaomi POCOPHONE  F1 has surfaced in an online listing the shows the images, reveals specifications and the price of the phone. This shows a 5.99-inch FHD+ screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch, Snapdragon 845 SoC with support for liquid cooling and 6GB RAM, 12MP+ 5MP dual rear cameras, 20MP front camera, fingerprint sensor on the back and a 4000mAh battery with fast charging.

Xiaomi teams up with Holitech Technology to manufacture smartphone components in Tirupati

Xiaomi today announced that Holitech Technology which is its key component supplier will start smartphone component manufacturing in India. Holitech has signed an MOU with the state of Andhra Pradesh and will start local manufacturing in the city of Tirupati for Xiaomi.
