The first Nokia Harmattan / MeeGo device , the Nokia N9 , has been garnering rave reviews everywhere. However there is one more MeeGo phone ie the developer only Nokia N950. Rumor has it that the N950 was supposed to be launched in 2010 as the first MeeGo device but got canned. Nokia has been handing these out to select developers to spurt the development of Qt apps for the N9 as well as the next billion Qt enabled devices.

The latest update (2011.07.05) for Foursquare for Android brings new notification tray that lets the users keep track of friend’s check-in, comments, tips, badges etc. This update also brings new settings that is redesigned to enable or disable the notifications similar to the Foursquare web application. AT&T is one of the largest US carriers and they are offering number of Android devices. Recently, they announced two new Android devices known as HTC Status and LG Thrill 4G. HTC Status is AT&T version of HTC ChaCha which is a small device that comes with a dedicated Facebook button. On the other side, Thrill 4G is AT&T version of LG Optimus 3D which is LG’s first ever device with 3D technology. HTC Flyer was launched few months ago which is HTC’s first ever Android powered tablet. It’s a very good Android powered tablet and I recently reviewed it and I was impressed. Sprint is offering the Flyer in USA as EVO View 4G and it’s available on contract. The LG Optimus Black which we got our hands on at Mobile World Congress has been available in India for some time now and now we have official confirmation of the launch with LG calling it the World’s Brightest Smartphone. The device is priced at Rs.20990 MRP and is available for around Rs.19990 in the market. The specialty of the Optimus Black is the 4 inch NOVA IPS LCD Display. Motorola is planning to launch two new Android devices in USA via Verizon Wireless and they are Droid Bionic and Droid 3. Droid Bionic was recently leaked and it was completely redesigned as compared to the model we saw at CES. Looks like Samsung’s latest Android flagship – Galaxy S2 has set new sales records for the company as it has managed to sell 3million units globally in just 55 days. Not a bad number at all ! The company claims one S2 was sold every 1.5 seconds. Although the S2 has been successful , it has had it’s own share of problems some users have faced issues with the display and camera. We ourselves spotted a display bug in the S2 . some users also report over-heating. But for the most part , S2 users seem a happy lot. If you are picking up an S2 soon , make sure your unit does not face any issues mentioned above . For S2 owners , its party time ! Also do check out our review of the device. Recently Motorola launched the Milestone 3 in China which is actually successor to Milestone 2 which is known as Droid 2 in USA. Now its turn for the US version to come out which will be known as the Droid 3. We recently heard that Verizon will launch it on July 7th but it was just a rumor however Droid Life got their hands on a leaked screenshot which confirms it that Verizon will be launching it on July 7th via Direct Fill and it will hit all other Verizon stores on July 14th.
