Byond Mi-book Mi1 7-inch Tablet running Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 4300

Byond Tech has launched Mi-book Mi1 their new Android tablet. This has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor and has a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. It has 3D video and gaming support and comes with free 3D goggles in the box. Facebook for Android v1.9.11 update brings Faster photo tagging and Album selection for photo uploads

Facebook for Android has been updated to version 1.9.11 that brings Faster photo tagging which lets you tag a photo just by tapping on it and option to choose an album when you are uploading a photo by clicking the album icon. Unlike the previous update that brought several messaging features, this is just a minor update that has just 2 new features and bug fixes. Zen Mobiles launches UltraTab A900 with 9-inch display, Android 4.0 for Rs. 7999

Zen Mobiles has launched the UltraTab A900, successor of the UltraTab A100 that was launched in July. The UltraTab A900 has a 9-inch capacitive multi-touch display. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) similar to the UltraTab A100. It is sleek and has marble finish. It has 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and has support for Adobe Flash. It has Live Panel menu that lets users to customize the home screen content with images, bookmarks, social feeds and a application tray in the home screen with shortcuts to launch task manager, calendar, music player and more. Google to hold an Android event on October 29th

Google has started sending invites for an Android event on October 29th. Looks like the earlier rumors about the event were correct. Google’s  event coincides with the Microsoft’s Windows Phone event in San Francisco. There is nothing in the invite  other than the tag line The playground is open, but according to the earlier rumors, we can expect Nexus devices from LG and Sony. Asus PadFone 2 official, launching in Europe and Asia including India in December

Asus has officially announced the Padfone 2, successor of the PadFone that was launched in India last month. It comes with a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super IPS+ display with 550 nits brightness and is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. It would have Qualcomm’s MDM9215 chip for the LTE support. It has a optional keyboard dock. The specs, images, and the video have already been leaked online. Google Calendar app for Android released on the Google Play Store

Google has finally released the Google Calender app on the Google Play Store for the devices running on 4.0.3 or later. This app was previously available only on the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus devices. This would let you sync the Google calendar to the Android devices, create, edit and delete events and also respond to invitations. LG to roll out Android 4.1 update for select high-end Optimus devices starting from November

LG has announced the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update schedule for high-end devices including Optimus LTE 2, Optimus G, Optimus Vu and Vu 2 in Korea. The LG Optimus LTE 2 would be the first device to get the Jelly Bean update, which would start in November. LG’s latest quad-core Smartphone, Optimus G would get the update in December, while the Optimus Vu and its successor Vu 2 would get the update in Q1 2012. Rumor: Sony working on a 5 inch 1080p smartphone

According to multiple leaks that have been cataloged by GSMArena, it looks like Sony is working on a new smartphone scheduled to be launched 2013 that will have a 5 inch 1080p display. This device, which has two names depending on the country it’ll launch in, the C660X ‘Yuga’ and the C650X ‘Odin’, has been seen in the NenaMark2 database. Translation: Some Sony engineer with a prototype of this as yet to be unveiled smartphone wanted to see how fast it was, so they ran a benchmark and accidentally uploaded the results to the internet. LG Optimus 4X HD price drops to Rs. 27990


LG Optimus 4X HD has got a price cut in India, which is now available for Rs. 27,990. It was announced at MWC 2012 earlier this February and launched in India for Rs. 34,990 in July. Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2 pre-booking starts, coming for Rs. 11,990 ?

Micromax has started teasing their upcoming A110 Superfone Canvas 2 on their Facebook page and also opened the pre-booking for the handset on Snapdeal. It is the successor of the Micromax A100 Superfone Canvas that we reviewed recently. The design of the phone is similar to the A100, but it would come with a 1 GHz dual-core processor and an upgraded 8 Megapixel camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling. Karbonn launches Smart Tab 9 and Smart Tab 3 Tablets, A11, A7+ and A1+ Android Smartphones

Karbonn Mobiles has launched Smart Tab 9 (Marvel) and Karbonn Smart Tab 3 (Blade) running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and range of Android Smartphones in India. Both these tablets are powered by a 1.2 GHz processor similar to the Smart Tab 1 that was launched in July. The Karbonn Smart Tab 9 has a 9-inch capacitive touch screen and a 4000 mAh battery, while the Smart Tab 3 comes with a 7.1-inch capacitive touch screen and a 2600 mAh battery. Dropbox for Android v2.2 update brings new Photos tab

Dropbox for Android has been updated to version 2.2 that brings new features including a new Photos tab that lists your uploaded photos and videos, including photos uploaded from other devices. The new Photos tab lets you view the uploaded media in a thumbnail view to share or download them easily. These photos are also listed according to the uploaded date. Gmail for Android v4.2 to bring pinch-to-zoom and Swipe to delete features

Android Police has got hold of the upcoming Gmail for Android app version 4.2. Looks like this would be a major update from the existing version of the Gmail for Android version 4.1.2. The upcoming Gmail for Android update is expected to bring the most expected pinch-to-zoom feature and a new swipe to archive or delete feature to quickly delete or archive a mail from you inbox or sent. You can also disable this feature from the settings, or make it to only delete when you swipe or archive and delete. It also removes the labels when you’re in a label-only view.
