Gionee Elife S7 Review

Gionee Elife S7 -12

The Chinese invasion of the Indian smartphone market was helmed early on by the likes of Gionee. Somewhere between the price wars and the somewhat lackluster high end products, the brand never managed to gain the favor of high end smartphone buyers. Sure, the company has done exceedingly well in the mid to low end segment with record breaking turnovers that the enigmatic head of Gionee’s Indian business is proud to trumpet but the higher end has remained elusive. While the company has regularly produced ultra slim devices, with the Elife S7, Gionee hasn’t broken any world records and this very well might be for good reason. All said and done, we went over the handset with a fine toothed comb to ascertain whether the company has learnt from its mistakes and has finally created a high end product that can be wholeheartedly recommended. Did it succeed? Read on to find out. Continue reading “Gionee Elife S7 Review”

Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM Review

microsoft_lumia_540 (1)

Microsoft launched the Lumia 540 Dual SIM last month in India. It is a handset that makes you confused as to what its purpose in Microsoft’s lineup really is. HTC One M9+ Review

HTC-One-M9--plus-Review-11

One of the old ones, HTC remains as one of the few smartphone manufacturers that have been able to stand the test of time. Brand loyalty and genuinely well built, pioneering products that consumers want have guaranteed that so far. When the HTC One launched, it was widely regarded as the best phone around. Fast forward an year and HTC mixed it up yet again with the One M8 that brought along a somewhat gimmicky depth sensor but pushed the design and build further ahead. But if the recent financial reports and consumer sentiment are anything to go by, it seems that HTC is running out of steam. The recent release of the One M9+ has a lot riding on it’s shoulders. Is it good enough to stem the tide and bring new consumers into the fold? We find out in our review. Continue reading “HTC One M9+ Review”

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Review

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge_fonearena-13

If the “Next big thing” ads weren’t clearer, Samsung has always wanted its Galaxy S to be an iPhone. Premium, desirable and something people aspire to buy. The Galaxy S series was aspirational indeed, and was often ahead of the iPhone in many departments, except for the ones related to “premium”.
