Samsung is all set to launch the Tizen based smartphone in India this month.  The company has scheduled the phone launch on December 10th, as per a report from South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper.

Samsung to reportedly launch Tizen powered smartphone in India by December

Looks like Samsung is taking its time more time to launch smartphones based on its homegrown operating system Tizen in India. A report from the Economic Times is claiming that the South Korean electronic major will launch Tizen powered smartphones in the country by December this year.

Samsung’s Tizen based ZeQ smartphone leaked in new photo

Samsung announced its first Tizen based smartphone Z earlier this month. Today, photos of  Samsung ZeQ have surfaced via FCC who had approved the smartphone in December last year. The photo of the device that was first spotted by SamMobile shows NTT Docomo variant that was set for launch in Japan.

Samsung makes Tizen SDK for Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo available starting today

Samsung announced the successor of their original Galaxy Gear smartwatch at the MWC 2014 earlier this year – Gear 2. Samsung ditched Andriod for Tizen as a platform for their smartwatch and introduced two variants – Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Samsung has made available the Tizen SDK for Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo for developers and they can access it from https://developer.tizen.org/.

No more Bada phones, Samsung to increase focus on Android, Windows Phone 8

SamMobile reports that Samsung will not be launching any new Bada phones in the second half of 2012. The popular manufacturer intends to focus more on Windows Phone 8 alongside its staple Android devices. Bada Phones were last shown by the Korean manufacturer at IFA 2011 in Berlin.

HTC already planning Tizen devices according to Digitimes

You might have seen the Tizen Developer device  which is a Samsung phone running on the Tizen platform. Tizen is the joint venture between Intel and Samsung and the Operating System is expected to be ready this June with devices running on the Tizen OS expected to hit the market in the 2nd half of 2012. Tizen Screenshots Leaked; Might Run On Samsung I9500 Smartphone

Tizen OS is an open-source Linux-based project developed by Samsung, Intel and the Linux Foundation. According to the rumors, Samsung is expected to announce its first Tizen based device next month at the MWC 2012 in Barcelona.

We already know that MeeGo is dead! For the unknown, the Tizen OS is the successor of the MeeGo OS. It is an open-source Linux-based project developed by Samsung, Intel, Panasonic, Vodafone, NTT DoCoMo and the Linux Foundation. According to the rumors, Samsung is expected to announce its first Tizen based device next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona. GoodBye MeeGo, Intel and Samsung team up for Tizen

Looks like the clouds surrounding the future of MeeGo have finally cleared up. Intel has announced today that it is bidding farewell to MeeGo and joining Tizen project which is part of the Linux Foundation.  The Tizen project was announced yesterday by the Linux foundation and the LiMo foundation as an open-source Linux based device software platform. Tizen covers smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, netbooks and in-vehicle infotainment systems. The first devices powered by Tizen are expected to hit the market in mid-2012.
