CyanogenMod 10 M2 builds out now

The guys on the CyanogenMod team look to be working hard as they have released the M2 version which is for the second month. CyanogenMod has announced that they will be releasing stable version of CM10 every month. The updates have already started rolling for devices like Galaxy Nexus, galaxy S3 and S2.

Samsung acknowledges Exynos documentation issue, working on a fix

Samsung devices are built with one of the most powerful hardware and the Exynos processor manufactured by Samsung themselves is one of them. But from quite sometime now Exynos powered devices are having problems with developers due to the lack of documentation. Samsung develops F2FS file system optimized for NAND storage

Samsung has been working on a solution for NAND flash optimized file systems and has submitted an open source solution to the Linux kernel. The F2FS file system or Flash Friendly File System has been designed keeping in mind the memory requirements of mobile devices. Based on a log-structured method, it tackles problems faced by file systems designed for traditional hard disk storage.

Nissan NSC-2015 self parking and security technology using Galaxy S III demoed at CEATEC

Samsung Running an Anti-iPhone 5 Ad in Newspapers on Sunday

CNet and Businessinsider report that Samsung has prepared an anti-iPhone 5 ad which will be published in newspapers on Sunday. The ad lists Apple’s iPhone 5 directly against the Samsung Galaxy S III. Samsung’s ad is titled “It doesn’t take a genius.”, which takes a diss against Apple Retail’s genius bars.

The rest of the ad shows a comparison of features between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III. Obviously, the list is heavily weighted towards Samsung where many of the main features are highlighted. At the end is the line “The Next Big Thing Is Already Here”.

Apple and Samsung have been fighting head on in the smartphone market and in the courtroom. Apple just recently won a massive victory in their U.S. patent trial against Samsung with a $1.05 billion verdict. Keep it classy, Samsung.

Galaxy Note II sales expected to top 20 million says Samsung

When Samsung announced its phablet, the Galaxy Note, it was not expected to become the hugely successful product it is today. Cumulative sales for the crossover between a phone and a tablet have crossed 10 million units. Last month, the Korean manufacturer announced its successor called the Galaxy Note II.

Samsung Galaxy SIII in Garnet Red now available in stores in India.

At IFA2012 Samsung Mobile announced four more colours for Samsung Galaxy SIII, mainly Garnet Red, Sapphire Black, Amber Brown and Titanium Gray. Samsung Mobile India has launched Garnet Red version of Galaxy SIII (16GB) in India on Samsung e-store. It is now also available in Samsung premium and flagship stores as well local stores in India. The MRP of Garnet Red SIII is same as other 16GB variants which is Rs.42,500 and it’s retail price is around Rs. 37,500. Similar to blue and white, this variant has its packaging in Red. Samsung Galaxy Note II unveiled: Comes with Android Jellybean, 5.5″ HD Super AMOLED display

Samsung just announced the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the follow-up to its popular phablet. The Note II comes with an even larger 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Battery capacity has been upped to 3,100 mAh and it is of the fast charging variety. Powered by a quad core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6Ghz, the Note II runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean.

Samsung has rolled out its Drive Link app which gives Galaxy SIII users a launcher view which has been optimized for in-car usage. The app allows access to music, GPS navigation in addition to hands-free calls.

Samsung to pay $1.05 billion in damages to Apple for infringing patents

The jury presiding over the Apple vs Samsung trial in a US court has just reached a verdict. We were thinking this trial would last several weeks or even months and to everyone’s surprise the jury announced the verdict just minutes ago. Pretty bad news from Samsung has it has been found to infringe several patents owned by Apple.  Samsung must pay Apple $1 billion, 51 million 855 thousand dollars $1051855000 . That is about Rs.5828.33 crores or five thousand odd crores of rupees in damages to just give you an idea about the magnitude of the verdict. No more Bada phones, Samsung to increase focus on Android, Windows Phone 8

SamMobile reports that Samsung will not be launching any new Bada phones in the second half of 2012. The popular manufacturer intends to focus more on Windows Phone 8 alongside its staple Android devices. Bada Phones were last shown by the Korean manufacturer at IFA 2011 in Berlin.
