Apple launches iTunes Music & Video Store in India

Apple has finally introduced its Music and Video store in India giving users here another avenue to get hold of content legally. Pricing is quite competent with individual tracks being priced between Rs 12-15 per track and most albums ranging from Rs. 110 to Rs. 300 depending on how old the album is and its popularity.

Movie pricing varies between Rs. 290 to Rs. 500 for SD or HD movies. You also have an option to rent them at Rs. 80 for Bollywood content while International movies will be charged at Rs. 120. Users can purchase and download music videos for priced between Rs. 15 and Rs 20 depending on content.

The Bollywood content is looking quite solid though if you’re looking for a good international collection especially movies, you might be disappointed. The iTunes Match service which lets you match your music collection to the cloud has also been launched here at Rs. 1200.

 

 

Google Music receives major UI overhaul

The Google Music application has just received a major update bringing its user interface in line with the one shipping on the Nexus 7. The updated application follows the Holo UI principles similar to the Google+ app and there is a lot of focus on visuals with large images.  In addition some useful additions like adding new tracks to a playlist queue have been included.

Google Music Android Event Live Blog

Google is holding an event in Los Angeles today and is expected to announce something connected to Google Music and Android. We have been hearing rumors that Google has been in talks with various record labels for Google Music which debuted at Google IO earlier this year.(currently in beta and available only in the US). Will Google come up with a answer to iTunes , Spotify ?  We should find out soon. We should definitely expect to  see a complete version of the Google Music App for Android too. . Android tablets and Tablet S now to get Sony Music Unlimited

The video streaming platform has been on the tablets for some time now, but now Sony wants a simple music streaming app which can run on any of the Android tablets, which will also provide access to the cloud based music unlimited network. it will be attainable via download , an app for any Android tablet junkie to freak out on, though this app will be hitting on Sony Ericsson’s Tablet S first.

Exclusive: Nokia X7 Now Available In India At Rs 22,000

Nokia’s gaming centric handset , the Nokia X7 is now available in India. We spotted a few units at the Priority Dealer where we could take a demo piece for a spin. The X7 comes with  a 4″ AMOLED screen and runs Symbian Anna. The camera is an 8MP EDoF unit. The unit comes with a 8GB microSD card in the package and supports upto 32GB of memory. The phone has been priced at Rs 22,000.

Google launches Music Beta Cloud based Audio Streaming service

Google finally launched it’s much anticipated Music streaming service Google Music in Beta. The service was announced at Google I/O and will be available only on a invitational basis for users in the US. The service comes with the Music Manager software for Windows and Mac which lets you upload all your music from your computer to the cloud. Apple Might Launch Unlimited Music Download Service on iTunes

Apple is apparently in talks with major companies such as  Universal Music, Sony Music and Warner Music to make purchased music more easily accessible to users. Sources claim that an agreement might be made as early as mid 2011.

Nokia X5 Price in India – Rs.9999

When Nokia launched the X5-01 [specs] in Singapore this June , they did not have any plans to bring it to India. But looks like they have decided to bring the phone to India. Nokia N8 Music and Video Playback

We had the chance to check out the Nokia N8 at Nokia Connection 2010 and we must say the phone feels great to grip. Finally full metal on a N-series device. The large screen (not as large as the HTC EVO 4G) but pretty good for a Nokia. Music playback is pretty loud considering there is only one speaker on the rear below the camera.
